Johnson would be nice even at his increasing age.

Wonder if BO'B likes Dobson ? Obviously only on a substantially reduced contract.

34 yrs old, start of 2015 season.

He can be our vertical threat. Wonder if he is willing for a 1-2yr deal for cheap....

Bernard Pollard (remember him?) is being released...

I'd hate to see him in a Jets/Phins/Bills uniform. He's a Pats jinx.

Johnson still good enough to get u 800 to 900 yards. Johnson should be pursuing a championship at this stage of his career. He would fit well in new england since he wont have to be option number 1.

The problem with Johnson is going to be the same as the problem with Dockett and others. They may, or may not, find out that their value is way down, but it's still probably going to be more than what N.E. can swing.

Some of us here were advocating for him last off season. The Pats were linked to him from various rumors/reports (Rapoport), but in the end his salary and what the Texans wanted (rumored 2nd rounder) was too much.

Considering we are cap-strapped now, I doubt he will be an option. He will be 34 though, so maybe his market is slim.

EDIT: Deus just summed it up well. Johnson would realistically need to take a 2 year 9-10 million dollar deal here. Not sure he would accept that. However, he would get substantial playing time here as our WR1B to Edelman.

Could be interesting addition but I'll worry about free agents and potential free agents once we resign our own key players.

I'd think long and hard about trying to get to Seattle if I were Johnson. They're in dire need of a #1 WR and his physical style of play would suit the Seahawks well.

I'm not sure he's an option for the Patriots unless he's willing to play for a reduced deal.

Too old, will just be another Ochocinco same age when he came here. May not pick offense, no time to mess around with Brady's twilight years. Pass

Andre has done it all ... great career - made money - Pro Bowl's ... a ring would be the cherry on the sundae. If he was the #3 receiving option on this team he would be open a ton.

I'd sign him for 4.5m/yr and dump Amendola... IMO

Johnson is still good enough but he needs to accept the fact that he is not a number 1 anymore.

Would rather restructure Amendola.

No comparison to Ocho.

Andre finished with nearly 1000 receiving yds, with a below-average QB rotation. He has lots left in the tank. Motivated for a SB ring..

OBrien was HC. He can certaintly pick up the offense....

I'm kinda okay with our receivers. Would like to see a draft pick or two invested in some developmental talent, but giving FA bucks to a guy like Andre doesn't move the needle much for me at this point in his career given what he would cost. He would be a solid addition, but with cap space in such short supply I'd rather see the team invest it in making sure that the defense stays at its 2014 level.

pats don't have the money right now to sign him even if he would play on a one year 4 million contract but not sure he even wants to play here,

if he wants a shot at winning the Seahawks are his best bet but I say he signs with the colts they have the most money to pay him and the QB that will throw his way over 100 times, they are a playoff team and he can try to stick it to his old team twice a year

The Patriots have fared really well with their in season moves for veteran players but they have done poorly when it comes to star veteran players looking for their last deals. We have been talking about guys like Abraham, Freeney and Kevin Williams over the last couple of offseasons but they always end up taking the higher offer, and who could blame them? We'll see if the ring makes it any easier for them? Hopefully they can sell some of the better vet releases on a ring.
