RUMOR: Revis "to hit the market?"

If Revis goes there is money for Gost and Mcourty

I can't see the Pats letting both McCourty and Revis hit free agency.
Me neither. And I can bite the bullet if we end up losing McCourty. It would hurt but not be as crippling as letting Revis hit FA too. Get Revis and I am pacified.

Revis is signed for next year. He can't discuss his contract with other teams like pending free agents do. Pats do hold some power here too. We get 1m under the cap by cutting VW. I'd do that. Work a deal for McCourty. Go back to Revis for something long-term. If Revis balks, just make a different cut in order to keep McCourty.
In theory....

I read the Schefter quote. Sounds more speculation than inside info.

Except if the Pats did it it would be on CNN.

What would we tell the children?

Browner is not a number one corner. Let's not kid ourselves here

They'll get this deal done, if it means McCourty gets to be run over by blount in the AFCCG as a memeber of the colts so be it. I'd honestly rather spend the obscene money it would take to resign McCourty to add Iupati to the o-line.

Of course not. Another reason I can't possibly imagine losing Revis. Who would we put along with Browner? Sign Maxwell or someone else for plenty of money? Promote Butler? We know Logan Ryan isn't the answer right now. Mind boggling if that happened.

I would be shocked if they let both revis and McCourty go. but if they cut Revis and have a deal for McCourty is place I am ok with that

Is this just a hunch by schefter? I like revis but this guy has always been about the money. Idk what the pats will offer but dont play his games. Go after pot roast.

Can't leave secondary in that kind of state.

would anybody be surprised if he doesnt come back? i wouldnt. prepare yourself.

Yes but how much does revis? I am sure the pats have no problem giving him 15 mil but does he want 17 to 18?

The rumor is BOTH McCourty and Revis will enter Free Agency.

Worst case scenario : Both DBs sign crazy $$$ contracts with other teams, which Patriots cannot match. And there are a number of teams with lots of $$ to spend.

What's the backup plan? :(

Revis would have to be cut to test FA right?

Let's hope we don't find out.

revis will test free agency regardless. it's in his best intere$t.
revis has always been about getting a huge deal. sure the pats will offer him a good deal but others like the jets/bills will offer more.

still can't believe we didn't tag mccourty. #inbillitrust

No, just patriots decide not to pay the $20M 'placeholder' and then he is a FA. 4pm on tenth.

But question I haven't seen the answer to, if they did pay him the 20- even if just to gain bargaining time, who has to be cut to get them under cap for the top 51? Wilfork for sure. How many more?
