9 million is a lot of money for McCourty. I think the Pats maybe use the franchise tag on the Ghost, just as a placeholder. They need to work on the Revis and McCourty contracts. So shelving the Ghost talks for now, makes sense.

They really can't do anything with the Mayo contract, so he is not going anywhere (at least until he is healthy). Sadly I think that Vince might get cut, hopefully he doesn't, but it looks like cutting Vince is the easiest path for the Pats to get under the cap.

The Patriots are waiting for crunch time (March 10th) before making any meaningful offers.
By this time, all their unsigned players will have multiple offers.

BB's famous Jedi mind trick.....These is not the running back you need, cut him (It worked on the Steelers).

Wasn't that just a conspiracy by Blount and BB (or maybe they needed the Jedi mind trick to get him to clear waivers)?

Hell, it worked for Woodhead himself once upon a time. :)

I don't think they even make it to the AFCCG if they let them both go there are 10 teams in the AFC with over 29 million in cap space 3 of them playoff teams Bengals. Denver and colts and two of them on the edge of making it bills and chargers,

Denver has some big name guys to sign so they wont go crazy in FA but the colts with over 40 million could fix there problems and San Diego is a pass rusher and a RB away from a 12 win team, the AFC may look weak now but in a month it could be a different story
I would be willing to be a lot of money that if you track the 5 teams that started FA with the most money, the success rates of those teams was weak, more probably declined than improved and you wouldn't see SB winners in the bunch.
