Most consider the decades to start in year xxx0 and end in xxx9. Using that criteria, let's look at the teams from 2010-14 (halfway point). I saw this on a Ravens board last year and they were (yes, wait for it...) arguing the Ravens were the best team of the decade to that point (zing!) Of course, only Super Bowl champions were considered, which is fair enough, especially now.

No, this can't be right. I heard the Packers were the best team in the NFL last season when they lost in the NFCC.

Look at those delusional Ravens fans. They're so cute.

Seahawks should have 4 appearances I believe.

Thanks for pointing that out; I will correct it right now. I must have overlooked their 7-9 season!

My informal top-10, which includes non-SB winners, although definitely there's a lot of weight on a championship.

1. New England Patriots
2. Green Bay Packers
3. Seattle Seahawks
4. Baltimore Ravens
5. San Francisco 49ers
6. Pittsburgh Steelers
7. New York Giants
8. New Orleans Saints
9. Cincinnati Bengals
10. Indianapolis Drunk Drivers

Hope we can make it 2 decades of dominance. Only other run similar to this in football has been the 14 year run of FSU in the 90's.

I'm in a strange boat. I want the Patriots to continue winning Super Bowls and for Brady to retire a Patriot with at least 6 Super Bowls making it impossible to consider him anything but the greatest QB and footballer of all time.

As a minor point, ties ate normally assigned the highest rank (i.e., the SB victories should be t1, not t5).

We were already the best team of the naughts (00's). It's interesting that we're leading this decade, as well. Also interesting that nobody names the decades any more (20's, 30's.. 90's... oh now we're stuck.)

First time I thought of it as decade 2 and I like it. Clearly the 2000s were ours and we are now in the lead for the teens gotta win one or two more for a dominant stamp on two decades.

Fixed. Thanks for your advice.

Going into the third decade Brady will "only" be 43 and BB will be 67, coming out of it, Brady will be 53 and BB 77.

I think we're on the beam for 30'years of dominance.

The question is, will Bob Kraft be able to still hold the Lombardi at 90?

At one point in the 80's the Redskins were the early leader in the clubhouse for team of the decade. Of course that got tossed aside when the 49ers won two straight. I think the Pats are going to do the same thing and cement their place as the greatest dynasty of all time.

SF 49ers? They were fairly dominant in the 1980s and 1990s.

As much as I agree that was before the Salary Cap and Free Agency.. they just kept loading up.

Enjoy this ride folks, this is beyond my wildest dreams, but there will be "bumps in the road" in the future... but BB will be involved with the franchise after retirement, and he will help keep them focused.
