Langford is a definite 'sign' for me. Has positional AND scheme versatility, good locker-room guy, and he's still the right side of 30 years of age.

All that also means he'll probably be too expensive for us.

Absolutely not the case.

First year he was the 4th RB on the depth chart and behind Woodhead for that 3rd down back role. What happened to him was verbatim what happened to James White this year.

2nd year he was still behind Woodhead and only missed 3 games, the first 3 games of the season.

I thought he was IRed the first 2 years.. I'll have to do some research, if my memory serves correct, he was more fragile than a thin layer of ice after your ice tray has been in the freezer for 15 minutes. .

I was super excited about him out of college after we drafted him and remember being incredibly disappointed because he was IRed and didn't contribute anything until his 3rd year, then broke his wrist

I don't have the greatest memory though, so I'll definitely check back on my historical recollection.

In the last 2 years the only time he has missed was because of a broken bone. Broken bones are not an injury prone phenomena, they are just bad luck.
Vereen is in his prime, but is on the other side of the hill. Past injury issues aside, Bush is at the point where the likelihood of injury increases and Vereen is not. Bush also just played a season where he was questioned roundly that he should have been able to come back but nursed the injury. That seems to be one of the reasons he was cut.

I agree with you that I would rather have Vereen than Bush, no question about that. I've been worried that Vereen will walk Ala Danny Woodhead by being offered just a bit more than he's actually worth by another club, but landing Bush as a fall back would ease the pain of Vereen moving on if that's how it plays out.

I want Vereen back, but if he's gone Bush would be a suitable fill in for 2 years or so while they groom a young guy

Ridley is as good as gone, unless he makes vet minimum or agrees to a heavily incentive laden contract..

But honestly, he has a fumbling problem, tore his knee up and has a couple concussions so I feel like we can get another back in the draft to come in and be productive for us behind Blount.

Agree that if Vereen gets away Bush is a possible replacement, I just get real sketchy about aging players who seem to nurse injuries.
I can't imagine Ridley gets offered any more than the vet minimum plus incentives, and there would be no reason to not bring him back. If a RB came in the draft who could beat him out, he would be cut at no loss.

That's a bummer that you missed the Super Bowl. It's Ok though - it gets played on NFL Network every once in a while. Ask a friend if they can give you a copy, and have them give you one for each of the other two playoff games too. You'll be surprised when you see what that Amendola kid did. ;)

EDIT: I didn't mean to be a jerk - just bugs me when people downplay the significance of what Amendola did in the postseason and down the stretch when they called on him to do more.

Amendola had one great game against the Ravens, was non existent against the colts and was solid against the Seahawks.

But according to this board he was Larry fitgerald on the 2008 playoffs

RT @Rand_Getlin: WR Harry Douglas has been released by the #Falcons, per a league source

RT @ProFootballTalk: Dolphins release WR Brian Hartline, per his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Cuts, cuts everywhere! BTW, don't want Hartline. Is kind of just another LaFell.

We need to resign Mccourty and Revis soon a lot of cap room being made by some teams.
Would like to see us make some moves to free cap room.
I think Both Falcons and Dolphins are targeting Percy Harvin his price is going up.
Let's hope he wants a Superbowl.

Coming from a guy who thinks we should sign Marshall, this post dosen't mean much.

If we would've won the Super Bowl in 2011, you would have people on this board saying we shouldn't upgrade the defense because "hey we won anyway right?"

Were we as close to the cap, with a Revis situation, and as many free agents in 2011?
What does 2011's situation, have to do with the current one.

Try again

Why?

The Patriots priorities are on defense, they aren't going to pay Harvin and lose Revis or McCourty. Harvin has been on 3 teams in 3 years and none of them want him, that's about as telling as it gets.

The idea of
"We won the Super Bowl so no need for any upgrades"

Did the team Larry Fitzgerald was on in 2008 win the Superbowl?

Has nothing to do with my point. You and most people on this site are drastically overrating amendolas postseason this year. He's done nothing in his patriots career to show that's he can be counted on to produce

Danny amendolas 2015 playoffs

Seattle
5 catches/48 yards/1 Touchdown
Colts
1 catch/ 8 yards
Ravens
5 catches/81 yards/2 Touchdowns

Coming of a 27 catch/200 yard/1 TD regular season.

But he should be locked in as our number 3?

Who has those ideals here? Please, point out those posters.

Big difference between upgrades and pining for Brandon friggin Marshall.

You guys are morons

So., the whole board pretty much disagrees with this. But the whole board is full of morons. If so, why does someone with your apparent football management intelligence waste their time with a forum full of morons.

Do you not have a life?

Well, I don't think Amendola should be the #3. What has he done to warrant that spot?

I wouldn't mind bringing in Harry Douglas...
