I'll be the first to say I'm a big Ridley supporter, I think I've made that clear with some of my past posts, and truthfully I think people miss the point that Ridley and Blount are really a best case scenario. Ridley's quickness and ability to hit the hole with speed and his vision is something that has been one of his best assets, and that's something that they were really lacking at times during the season. Obviously they won the Super Bowl without him and it's easy for us to get blinded by the end result - which is one that a lot of good players (ie: Mayo) end up with people pondering life without them with fans, media, etc.

This kid's a great kid. He's always kept a good attitude, you see him out with his teammates in a positive manner, doesn't make an idiot out of himself on social networks, and aside from 2013 when he struggled (and I agree, a couple of the fumbles weren't completely his fault) he's been a solid back. He was running well before he went down and I feel like he's an asset that they really need. Obviously bringing him back with something to prove I think will be a good thing, but I'd like to see him back in a lead role with Blount next season if he's healthy.

I would not mind the pats taking Tevin Coleman at #32 if his there but if not they need Ridley back Blount if his not playing the colts is a 10 att 40 yard per game RB at best, if I am the pats I take Tevin Coleman at #32 and then trade back up to the middle of the 2th to get a G and this offense will be the top offense in the NFL in yards and points in 2015

all depends on how he can recover. Would like him back on a prove it deal and see what he has to offer in camp.

Seriously.........

yes seriously

Feel free to enlighten the class with something that ridley has done in the last two years that says otherwise, because I don't see it and neither does the coaching staff that went out of their way to get blount not once but twice.

Pretty much exactly how I feel. If you ask me out of the five RB's we have at the moment (Blount, Vereen, Gray, Bolden, Ridley) which I want most, I'd want Ridley.

Thank GOD you are not running the team then. A running back coming back from major knee surgery, with past fumbling issues and an inability to break big runs, who has averaged 4.3 yards per carry over his career with the Pats, while Blount has averaged 4.7 and 5.0 over his time here.

I think you're underestimating the benefit of pairing Blount and Ridley together and seem focused on killing Ridley. I understand people focus on the fumbling issues of 2013, which didn't occur in 2014 before he got hurt. But regarding your "big run" - I'll just throw out that Ridley had the longest rush during the regular season last year:

and during his best season in 2012 was also among the leaders, with 2013 being a season where I think he was inside his own head too much to be as effective after the rough start:

Just throwing that out there.

Granted we'll have to see how his knee recovers, but it's way too early to write him off. I say keep him with Blount, and it's a pretty good pairing.

Oh, I have no problem with the Pats bringing him back on a one year contract, and if healthy I certainly think he can be an addition to the team, however, the hyperbole around him has always been blown way out of proportion here, just like the negativity many here assign to Blount. Blount has a higher average, fewer fumbles and is healthy. Ridley isn't. For someone to say that they want Ridley more than Blount Gray or Vereen is just dumb at this point.

Let's not forget Devlin in the RB mix.....He's on ST also and a good lead blocker.....I don't think BB/Josh is about to part ways with him just yet. :)

We probably don't mention Develin as a RB because he is listed as a FB and that is the position that he plays. He is also an occasional TE, and a solid special teamer.

And Develin will be here for at least another couple of years.

What's the latest we have to sign him? Is it possible to wait until after training camp to make something definitive?

1. We got rid of a trouble child in Demps. And for him (who has not done a meaningful thing in the NFL) + 7th rounder, we got a decent RB who has a bit of a different skill set than Kid Rid
2. Ridley was already done for the season when that happened. Were they supposed to resign the beat mid season with a torn ACL?

Are you really this stupid or are you trying to sway facts your way? Next time to prove a point, please use facts that do not make you look like a complete idiot.

NO, i meant i was seriously laughing out loud when i read that post. i will not dignify your reply with more of an answer than this.

A lot of good RBs coming out of college who will be a cheaper option.

I don't see Ridley costing much next year.......bring him back and give a spot on the roster between him and tyler gaffney......

bush
bolden
blount
ridley/gaffney
white

Your arguement is just as potent as Ridley's "potential" It's still hasn't shown up.

This is disingenuous considering that the second time they got Blount, Ridley had already been on IR for weeks. To the contrary, the fact they let Blount walk over peanuts actually refutes your point.

Come again? Ridley is an easy choice over Jonas Gray.
A healthy Ridley may be an easy choice over Jonas Gray. An injured Ridley looking for a big contract would not. If you want to preface your remarks by saying, if healthy I would much rather have Ridley than Gray I would not disagree with you, although I would preface it by looking at the costs of each. Coming off a major knee injury I would simply not agree and say you are wrong.

Since when is Ridley looking for a big contract?
