i have taken my normal month of feb off. I cannot wait for the season to start now.

I truly feel this team is going to repeat. The AFC sucks worse than it did last year. I am expecting a huge manning injury this year and luck is going to continue to suck.

Give me a good FA period and good draft.. After the draft, we only have 2 months til football starts.. Think about that!

I know it's impossible to look at the teams for 2015 schedule wise.. But they have a really weak schedule.

Kind of makes me nervous since they won't be tested..

Agreed. Most of the AFC is on the decline, with the exception of Baltimore perhaps. They were a slightly above average team this year and gave us a run for our money in the playoff game. They have a fantastic shot at getting back to the dance, and if your in the dance, you got a chance.

Huh? I'm still reliving the Super Bowl, the playoffs, and select regular-season games. Also watched some of the combine.

**** 2015.
The day that matters is February 7, 2016.

without seeing what the AFC dose in FA and the draft not knowing who looks better on paper I would say there are 3 teams that could give the pats problems in the playoffs,

#1 the ravens
they are the one team in the AFC that can come into new England and get a win. they have the inside pass rush to get to Brady they have the running game and they have a QB that when he is on can light the pats defense up,

#2 Denver
Peyton is back and Elway will find a way to add a FA or two and the biggest move they made so far is Wade Phillips as the DC his team always has a top 5 defense with him as DC and that means they have a great shot at the #1 seed and winning in Denver is not something the pats have done a whole lot of,

#3 Houston
yes that's right i said the Texans. with Ryan Fitzpatrick as the QB for most of the season and Arian Foster missing 3 games and a very talent but inconsistent defense they were 9-7 if they can get into the playoffs they have the best pass rusher in the game one of the best RB's in the NFL and a HC that knows the pats and BB. what the talent they have and a good game plan they could give the pats a run for there money

I have no idea why people bother ranking Denver as a playoff threat. Peyton Manning is done when the new year ticks over.

Also, Seattle thought they were probably going b2b too. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Belichick and Brady led teams always have a punchers chance to go the distance excited to see if we can repeat

I feel your optimism, but with all due respect it's pretty difficult to try and judge ANY of the competition prior to free agency + the draft.

For example--how would you feel about the Colts, should they land Adrian Peterson? Or how would you feel about Denver if they end up with say, Darrelle Revis (it pains me to even type that, believe me)?

I agree that barring major injury, we definitely have a shot just like most years, but it's way too early to try and predict the difficulty of the schedule, along with what teams will surely "suck."

I have downloaded dozens of podcasts of various superbowl recap sports shows and I keep listening to them ,pretending as if the SB happened yesterday.

Only fools count their wins before they happen. The part I look forward to the most is the start of the song dance, ie the regular season.

It feels so good during the offseason if your team won the super bowl. Every other team's season ended badly whether their last game was in the regular or post season. I'm in no hurry for football to come back. Obviously I love football and can't wait to see if the pats can repeat but I'm not waiting for the next season for a clean slate. It will also be nice having the pats be called the defending champs all next year. For people who say they are tired of the patriots I'll just remind them it's been a freaking decade since the pats won the big game. I'm hoping Revis stays and when all is said and done Brady will have two dynasty's...the first three Super Bowls at the beginning of his career and 2 or 3 at the end.

I've done that too. Any good ones you can recommend? I downloaded a lot off iTunes. It's funny because I also even enjoy listening to the podcasts where the podcasters hate the pats and talk about cheating the whole time. This super bowl was so sweet. Good times. I like Mike Golic and he does a good job of sounding neutral but you can tell he didn't want the pats to win.

For now, we get to hear the Pats called "The champs" or "The SB Champion NE Patriots," or my favorite, "YOUR Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots" at least through Calendar 2015.

It's a good way to "suffer" through an off-season... and a pre-season... and it ain't bad during the regular season.

But being a spoiled NE fan I am really ready for another b2b SB... it's now gone from about a 1 in 1000 chance to a 1 in 32 chance, if you go straight by the "any team can win it" theory. Of course, the Pats don't play by those odds in the first place.

Before FA/Draft, I'd say we're the favorites to go back. And of course, so is Seattle in the NFC. Until you see the off-season moves, in most years you have to say a re-match is favored. Even moreso when you can honestly say that the two teams that looked most complete went to the dance last season.

We'll see how it all shakes out :) That's part of the fun.

The only team I'd knee-jerk agree to include on a February list of teams to worry about next January is the Ravens. Season after season, they give the Pats fits in the Playoffs and it was only the genius of Adams and Belichick in outsmarting Harbaugh that put our guys in a position to win this year...and they had to come back from 14 down twice to do so and throw in a trick play.

Denver? Unknown. Manning is unreliable in the post season and his arm isn't getting any stronger. I look for the Broncos to rely heavily on their running game this season to save his arm for December and January, but even that might not be enough.

As for the rest of the Conference, including Houston, I worry about the team that's hot and playing its best football in December and January and that gets a little bit of good luck and a few calls that go their way. Virtually any team in the conference could fall in that category. Remember, the Pats were 5--11 in 2000 and virtually nobody outside of Foxboro and Michigan even knew the name of the QB who was number four on the depth chart, holding down what BB has described as a "wasted roster spot" for that season.

I was thinking if the Bears fans are excited for 2015 and started to laugh out of nowhere in the office, people asked me why, haha

I think the Kearse is over and that is what matters. Now it all about getting #5 for Tom and they can do it knowing he still has at least 1 or 2 more elite years left and probably more at a strong level of play.

Good stuff.
