WR in the 2015 draft

Based on Unoriginal's analysis of the potential importance of 10-split times, I'd put major question marks on some of the following WR prospects:

- Dorial Green-Beckham: 1.62 10-split
- Jamison Crowder: 1.71 10-split just isn't quick enough to get separation
- Vince Mayle: 1.67 10-split
- Tony Lippett: 1.63 10-split

Some guys who might be interesting targets:

- Nelson Agholor: 4.42 40 and 1.53 10-split.
- Kenny Bell: 4.42 40 and 1.55 10-split with a 41.5" VJ and 6.66 3C. Would excel on STs, too.
- Antwuan Goodley: 4.44 40 and 1.53 10-split.
- Rashad Greene: 4.53 40, 1.53 10-split and 6.88 3C. Great hands and route running, too.
- Tyler Lockett: 4.40 40, 1.56 10-split, 6.89 3C. ST ace.
- Tre McBride: 4.41 40 and 1.51 10-split are outstanding. He can run routes and adjust to the ball, too.
- Darren Waller: 4.46 40 and 1.58 10-split at 6' 6 2/8" 238# were better than Aaron Hernandez and Tim Wright, and in the Jimmy Graham/Jordan Cameron territory.

Does anybody see alot of Brandon Marshall in jaelen strong?? Idk why. I saw alot of people say dez Bryant as well.

This would be a good year to, once again, draft a pair of wide receivers.

Are you for drafting a pair because you see Dobson, Boyce and Tyms all being cut? Or is this just a class you really like?

these days, with the way the offensive system is built, it is not conducive to WR's with no NFL experience.......it takes long enough for vets to figure things out. As long as Brady is here, you need to get above average route runners by NFL standards......

I'd like to kick the tires on eddie royal or hakeem nicks

The only part of his game that I see some Marshall in is his ability to win jump balls. His vertical jump backs that up. Outside of that, he struggles to get separation from the press and runs some sloppy routes. That being stated, he still is very green and can probably be coached up. But I just don't see him as a good fit in this offense.

I'm a HUGE Jalen Strong fan, great physical talent with excellent hands and jumping ability.

Good for you ~ that should come in handy.

But why do you like Jalen Strong so much?

Heard my wr binky on a CBS interview yesterday. T. Lockett- k-St He's a 3x captain. Host asked him if teams are interested in that. He said most of em are. Was asked why he was voted captain. He said it was his job to get the players to do the things they "had" to do. Not, what they wanted to do. Oh yeah, he ran a 4.35

This is the one wr in this class that we can get at the end of the second round that I really like.

I like the depth of this WR class a lot -- it isn't last year's historically good class, but with any luck that bumper crop should mean that not as many teams will be targeting WR this year. (In contrast, look for DBs to come off the board much higher than they should.)

Tre McBride highlight video. It's a 15 minute reel of circus catches - McBride has fantastic body control.

BUT

The reason I'm posting it is because i want...no I insist (OK well hope)...you look at the catch at 5:15. Great body control and creative to boot.

That catch at 2.37 looks very similar to the Dez Bryant non catch in the Green Bay game.

Daniel Jeremiah

Really intrigued by 2 small school WRs in this draft class; Tre McBride (William & Mary) and Dezman Lewis (Central Arkansas).

We all know McBride. Lewis is someone we met at the combine.

Which Rookie receivers are known to be the best route runners?

Hard to say. I think Nelson Agholor is pretty good. I did a write up of him in another thread though I see him as a 2nd round prospect likely.

He played in a pro style system and as Mayo pointed out has a good 10 yard split so has short area quickness as well straight line speed. Right now if I was going to draft a WR he would be on my short list.

I know we have talked about Smelter for a long time at this point, but I was trying to think of a comparable for him, and coming up blank.

He is so think through his trunk, he is pretty unique for a wide out, but also has very quick feet, without the burner speed. i see some steve smith sr, but thats a pretty flawed compaarison for obvious reasons

who do you see?

An article on Tyrell Williams of Western Michigan who's visiting the Pats and had an outstanding pro day. Nothing particularly revelatory but worth noting for those of you who don't visit the pro day and visits thread. He's a name worth remembering:

There are a couple of game cut-ups at his Draft Breakdown page.

He's OK and worth a UDFA pick but there's no way I'd consider him ahead of signing DeAndre Smelter as a UDFA.

Here's another article about the Pats interest of him http://www.csnne.com/blog/patriots-...letic-division-2-wideout?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo

Highlights

It's hard to judge how he'll translate against NFL prospects because this is against D2 players, but this is what you should expect an NFL prospect should look like against D2 athletes.
