2015 NFL Veteran Cuts Thread

You would miss him when Bush is sitting out with an injury.

For some reason I thought Bush was a bit younger than he actually is, too. Didn't realize he is 29.

Vereen is still probably the better option, but Bush wouldn't be a bad replacement.

Crazy how time flies. I see AJ hawk is cut and I'm like wow, this guy is in the prime of his career. I google him to find out next year will be his tenth.

If DA is not retained they will need someone else. If he is then they will probably bring in some camp bodies or low risk guy for competition. They can bring in Randy Moss, and Calvin Johnson for all I care. We just need to get all of the Revis/Ghost/Dmac s taken care of before we start spending huge money at WR.

If BM wants to come here for prove it money with no risk I am all for it. The only problems are that he isnt taking a deal like that and the pats wont want him.

Other than those issues, I dont see much stopping it.

Amendola was a key contributor in our SB run. Perhaps you missed most of December, and all of January and February.

WR is not a need.

Yes it is. There's no depth on this team. We have Lafell and Edelman. That's it. What if one of them gets injured? Amendola was huge in the post season (great TD in the Jets game too) but he had only 200 yds in the regular season. Need another option to throw to. Dobson/Tyms are unknowns.

Also - I like Bush as a Vereen replacement. Would come cheaper than Vereen.

. Need another option to throw to.

Yes they do, just not someone who will command top dollar and be an idiot.

Also, I still believe DA can be the slot guy here. He figured it out and something clicked. Granted at a reduced salary. If he is not restructured and gone then they will look for a sold replacement.

Bush would excel as strictly a 3rd down RB. He's never been durable enough to be a starting RB.

However, this is a guy with 466 career receptions as a RB. Even at his age he could be an upgrade over Vereen. He's a heck of a receiving back.

That's a good point. However, I guess what I meant to say was that I don't think the team should go out and spend a ton of money on WR when it isn't among the top priorities.

I agree. Don't need a big FA, something like the Lafell signing last year is what I'm thinking.

Yup. Much more dynamic with the ball in his hands too. Give him limited touches, put him in on 3rd down, and watch him make plays...

@PFTonNBCSN: "I wouldn't be surprised if #Patriots go after Reggie Bush, if they can't hold onto Shane Vereen." - @RossTuckerNFL

I'd love Bush here but he doesn't strike me as the sort who will take the $$ we'd be offering.

Bush for Vereen is a trade off I wouldn't hate, especially if Shane commands more than we're willing to spend and Bush agrees to take a pay cut, of course.

If both Bush and Vereen want to get paid, I wouldn't be surprised if Bill moves on from both.

Not that he's proved a thing, but you've got James White in the waitings. Curious to see what he can do. Remember, it took Vereen almost two years to start contributing on the field.

I've always liked Reggie bush. He got overrated when people thought he was gonna be a 25 carry a game workhorse type back though

Brandon Marshall might get cut, he would be a perfect WR in our offense

A very good WR but we need to use our money else where I think. The offense will be fine with minor maintenance.

Amendola gave us nothing ? We might have been seeing something different, you and I...

200 yards and one touchdown in the RS. he had some nice moments in the PS but Can't count on him

Right now, top 5 needs are:
Revis
S
G
RB
K
I swear every year you're in the we don't need any more receivers camp.

Amendola was barely better than worthless in the regular season, and the kids on the roster weren't any better.
