Dez Bryant rumored to have done something really bad...

The only way the Hernandez case could be compared to Deflate gate is if they were not sure if Odein Lloyd was dead.
Who is comparing deflategate to the Hernandez case?

Funny, that's exactly the same thing that Greg Doyel has been using to convict the Patriots without any proof. Same goes for Ron Borges, Jerome Bettie, Marshall Faulk etc, etc, etc.......
However much I may disagree with spygate it is something the Patriots were guilty of so like anyone else their history of bad acts is going to be used against them when trying to convict them of a current bad act. There is no reset button. Had they never committed the spygate actions there would be nothing for these people to use. Ultimately that falls on them and they have to be aware of the fact they will not receive the benefit of the doubt that other teams may because they used their benefit of the doubt already.

So I log on, see this thread and start reading it. Then I remember why I don't come on to this site anymore. Logging off again now.

You know what pisses me off about these rumors, deflategate, Jets tamperinggate and many more is it destroys the reputation of the NFL and the NFL sits on each rumor or gate instead of putting them to bed quickly. In my opinion the Jets tampering with Revis should have been resolved in less than 8 hours yet it still lingers.

That's because there was no need for any investigation into the Jets tampering with Revis, it was a textbook case done on national TV. The league didn't even need to wait for the Patriots to file a tampering charge they could have ruled on it n in less than a day.

And I agree that the process the league is now using is completely counterproductive. Goodell should step down immediately if for no other reason than the fact that he is now so paralyzed by the fear that he has screwed so many things up that he can't act decisively and needs a congressional investigation into every issue no matter how minor.

I thought someone brought it up as in AH is not guilty etc...

MY point was there is a lot more evidence against AH than this deflate gate stuff where nobody seems to know what really happened.

If you're upset by people arguing about something, with some of them having opinions that you don't like, you should probably give up on the internet altogether.

He can still use the internet to get his GED so all is not lost

By that logic no team would get "the benefit of the doubt" because every team has had players suspended for PEDs or had another violation of league policy. All you are doing is excusing your proactive conviction of Dez Bryant by citing crappy examples.

Wow, what a cowardly stance you are taking. You are unable to differentiate anything of substance and might as well just be another cog in the wheel of mass media moron consumers.

Did the Patriots ever lie during "Spygate"? No, Belichick told the truth; he broke a rule and admitted it. Articles come out every day declaring that he is a liar and not to be trusted. Belichick has actually never been caught lying to the league in any way, shape, or form. He told them he did not tape the Rams walkthrough, which he did not. The entire Patriots organization tried to come clean immediately after Spygate; did them a lot of good, considering that people like you, who actually know the story, don't count that for anything.

If you haven't learned anything from Deflate-Gate, you never will. There are other teams (the Browns and the Falcons) who egregiously broke rules and will lose draft picks. No one cares. No one cared when the Dolphins got the Patriots signals in 2006. No one cares that Jerry Rice used stickum. No one cares that the Steelers, Broncos, 49ers, and virtually every other good team has cheated in some way. No one cares that the evidence has mounted that the Patriots probably did nothing wrong in this made-up scandal. No one cares that the Boston Herald retracted a story about the Patriots cheating in 2008. No one cares that the media continues to publish it. No one cares that when you think about, the Patriots really don't deserve anything close to the reputation that they have.

After all of this blind hatred you really still believe "Spygate" wasn't all about a bunch of whiny losers who were salivating at any chance to take down the Patriots? I did not think that was the case until this fake scandal, but now I know it is the truth.

So shut up about the benefit of the doubt. The Patriots made a mistake in 2007 and paid their penalty. It was SEVEN years ago. Big whoop. It is disappointing that you actually buy the "they brought this on themselves" hook, line, and sinker. I hope you never get caught doing anything wrong, however minor, because we'll remember that you will be presumed guilty for anything else as long as you live.

Anyone got a Rosetta stone layin around? o_O

:D. I keed

So has anything of substance actually come out about this yet, such as the actual video? Or is this another instance in which the 24 hour a day news cycle proves itself to be a joke?

I think the only thing that qualifies as remotely of substance is Adam Schefter told a radio station today he has known about the video and been working on the story since September but didn't offer any other details.

So far? The latter.

Interesting. That could change things since Schefter continues to prove reliable.

So, this has been in existence since September, is "5x worse than the Ray Rice video", and we're just hearing about it now? Sketchy.

If this is all true and it blows up as big as it potentially could, watch out for the Wells Report coming back under the radar, hoping nobody will notice while we're all looking at the big shiny thing. Classic misdirection.

Wow did you go strangle a kitten after writing this post? Bonkers...

It is a common thing for prior bad acts to be used against you, why don't you go hang out in your local courtroom for a day and see it. I don't give a **** about spygate but I'm not to stupid to recognize the fact that whenever the Patriots are involved in some type of investigation it is going to be considered.
