Contracts to deal with

I wonder what will come first; a resolution to the Vince Wilfork situation or the publishing of the Wells report.

They have kept this stuff in house really well. They have to be having numerous contract discussions at the same time and it is radio silence in New England.

We had posters who were very very vocal about expressing their opinion that the Patriots were dirty and cheap enough to intentionally give Tommy Kelly's snaps to inferior players with the motive of screwing him out of his incentive money.

Not sure why these these same posters refuse to believe that the Patriots might have helped Wilfork meet his incentives by leaving him in longer during a game when they were pulling other starters out of concern for their post-season health.

Personally, I highly doubt the Patriots put in inferior players just to save themselves a few hundred thousand dollars (or million). Either way, I know they are perfectly capable of doing the opposite, helping a player meet his incentives.

Yeah, it was really radio silent last year too, until Vince stormed into the lockerroom with all the media present, ripped the nameplate off his locker stall and stormed out. :)

I'm talking about all of the deals they are looking at, ( Revis, McCourty, Wilfork, Arrington, Mayo, Amendola etc...) imo they are doing an excellent job of keeping the discussions in house, and that is really how you want it.

I wouldn't wanna be the one to stand in between Vince and his beef money.

I'd put my money on a resolution to the Wilfork situation, since we know that's only a couple of weeks away. I believe that he has a big bonus due on March 9th, but I could be mistaken. I think we'll know one way or the other by then.

Watch the NFL attempt to bury the Wells report on the first Friday of free agency though, right around 4-5pm. ;)

Numerous contract discussions or no action at all. Nick Caserio stated a few days ago that the
Patriots would be evaluating every player on the roster. I'm sure the evaluation process has begun.
The Patriots have to decide by March 2nd if they want to use the franchise tag and by March 9th if
they want to pick up Revis's option. I personally think the Patriots will wait until just before free
agency begins to make any moves. They may even want the players to test free agency and see what
they are worth to avoid over paying.
