Another interception as shocking as Butler's?

I don't put it on the level of Butler's pick but surprised no one has mentioned Rodney's pick in SB39.

very similar situation except that the Eagles didn't advance all the way to the 1 and were even more quickly running out of time and even without the pick we hold them. Still it was a SB sealing pick to end a potential game winning 2 minute drive.

The one that carries the most weight for me is Champ Bailey picking off Brady in the '05 Playoffs.

We carried an air invincibility for the most part, when that happened it felt like a crack in the foundations.

You've mentioned this a few times, but Philly was on their own 5 with ~15 seconds when the pass was thrown, and Rodney caught it on the rebound, so it was going to be incomplete even had Hot Rod pulled an Asante.

With or without the pick, that game was over.

Jason Seahorn (New York Giants) had what I think was most spectacular interception of all time (against the Eagles), but Butlers's was the greatest of all time because it was so momentous and so shocking.

The Butler interception was more momentous because it changed the game and the fortunes / perception of the Patriots. If Butler had not made the pick, Seattle would have inflicted yet another heartbreaking loss on the Patriots and the Borges types would be whining for weeks about how the Patriots can no longer win the Big One or about how Brady is slipping (two pics, etc) or how the Patriots could not win without cheating, yuck, it would have been horrible.

I should add that I still consider Rodney the best player to set foot on the field in SB 39, and arguably the best player in the NFL that season at any position.

I just don't think that play is all that noteworthy.

Nothing touches the Butler INT...instinct..final play ect ect

Nowhere near as game breaking, but it's the most recent pick I could think of where "he came out of nowhere"

Revis was hiding behind some Colts receivers before he broke on the ball. Andrew Luck had no idea Revis was coming.

Besides the pick I brought to the house in a touch football game with my buddies about 10 years ago I'd have to say Butler's is the best in football history.

Probably isn't one of Jay Cutler's INTs

Butler's sealed the game, but this one is still right up there in my personal favs. When Butler made that play I think most of us were jumping around just like Brady (I was).
