49 was best Super Bowl ever.

I have watched a lot of replays, and the garbage that is the NFL keeps oozing out from day to day. I believe there is an agenda against the Pats.

When you think about all the lies, insinuations, hyperbole, and accusations that surrounded this game it is inspiring the Pats won.

Belichick and Brady are a combination for the ages. They will never be replicated, IMHO. Those fellas ability to stay focused, to shut out the noise, is unmatched.

I was sicker than a dog and only watched maybe 20 mins to half hour of the game. But I have caught up thanks to youtube and other online media. I am jealous of those that watched it live the whole time. The Patriots were underdogs in so many ways. Physically outmatched, at least on paper, public sentiment against them thanks to accusations by no less than the NFL, and bearing the stigma that the media and haters have pinned on them.

I'm tellin' ya folks, this was a sweet win. Complete vindication on all fronts and a nail in the coffin to those that deny the Pats as a dynasty.

Yup. I was out shoveling today and was thinking: That Butler interception, that was Moss catching Brady's bomb on first down in the final series of SB 42; that was Gronk just getting his his hands on the Hail Mary in SB 46 and pulling it on. That was ... finally.

-can't win since spygate

-can't win with out tampering with footballs

-BB can't win a SB without Parcells players

-haven't won a SB in ten years

-Only won when Brady had a rookie contract

-can't win now that the team needs Brady to carry the offense

All that **** is gone now, we don't have to hear it again.

Al Michaels called the play great. Could watch it over and over and over

I love how absolutely giddy Collinsworth is of the Kearse catch, that he laughs with glee
when he mentions Tyree and Manningham. Then the Butler catch and he sounds like all
the butt-hurt fans all over the country.

I agree. I usually like Chris Collinsworth and Al Michaels, but they tanked the Super Bowl and went all in for Seattle - - it showed.

First:

He completely framed the discussion of the end of the game for the nation by immediately harping on the play call.

Never mind that:

1) In 2014, marshawn Lynch had 5 running attempts from the 1 yard line. TD's? 1.

2) Of 109 passing attempts from the 1 yard line in 2014, there was ONE (1) interception - - February 1, 2015, 10:37 pm EST- Malcolm Terel Butler

3) It was an incredible play by Butler. I would venture to guess that if someone asked Collinsworth about that play TODAY, he would probably express remorse about his on air handling of it - and would say that he truly did blow it by not adequately mentioning how it was one of NFL history's great clutch plays. He did mention after awhile that Butler made the "play of the year" but he had already buried it under his original play call comments.

Second:

The Patriots had the ball with something like 3:20 left in the game. It was a tense situation with them down by three points- - and there was a stoppage in play for some reason or another - - one would think that there was plenty about the game and situation to talk about. Michaels and Collinsworth decide THAT was the perfect time to start discussing Deflate Gate and what it means to the Patriost and their reputation. Now I fully get that it was (and is, until the Wells report comes out) the biggest intermediate term story for the NFL and its business - - but REALLY??? With 3:20 left in a SUPER BOWL that was teetering back and forth? What, pray-tell, could be the motivation for sticking that in there at that time. I imagine even 93 YEAR OLD NON-FANS IN NEBRASKA WITHOUT ANY ROOTING INTEREST were annoyed by that at that moment.

If I had one question to ask Collinsworth, who I said before is usually very good, is 'Was that YOUR idea to start that conversation at that point in time, or did that come from elsewhere?'.

Have you noticed all the replays and game highlights and sound FX they've dubbed radio guys over them. The Patriots are down ten and here comes Brady then they cut to radio announcers giving the playback. They have to because those two idiots were just rambling about nonsense.

One of the greatest SBs ever, and I actually think they will probably sound edit them out for all future generations because they were so off topic and irrelevant.

This might be The Best Of Them All.

Why? Because of Yum Yum in the corner, there.

Besides being Scrumptious, she is deliciously EVIL: The Play is 5 Seconds old, and she's already whipping out the PhoneCam to capture the PigPile and spread it on FaceBook & Twitter far and wide!!

It is precisely that kind of Processing Speed ~ the ability to Rapidly Read & React to the Roiling, Boiling Tactical LandScape ~ that enabled Malcolm Butler to make The Greatest Play Ever Made!! :D

Brilliant, brilliant thread. To see peoples spontaneous reactions of pure joy and it being a mirror of how we all exploded into the exact same state of unashamed ecstasy.
This is what I now watch before heading to the Land of Nod instead of reading. I have not read one page of a book since because of it....keep em coming.:);)

I didn't understand Collinsworth's criticism of the Patriots during the fight at the end of the game.

"If you're Seattle, whatever. But if you're the Patriots, you don't throw a punch!"

Huh? The Patriots have the ball up by 4 points with 10 seconds left in the game and the other team is taking cheap shots. What harm can come from the Patriots standing up for themselves?

Just one parting shot at the Pats by Cris before they get handed the Lombardi

Much as Collingsworth is a tool, I took that comment of his to mean that the Pats don't want to take any risks with any unnecessary penalties at that point in the game.

Chris' tone made it clear that he was chiding the Patriots for their embarrassing behavior.

I thought the same thing. The game was basically over. I more play and that was it. Seattle, who tend to act like thugs, start a fight and Collingsworth seems to only find fault with what the Pats did. Ive always been hot or cold with Collingsworth, but I think this game showed his true colors towards the Pats. The clincher was he reaction to Sherman calling out Revis after the TD by Baldwin. Some think Sherman was only calling out the score by Seattle, being 24 points. Regardless, Collingsworth thought he was calling out Revis. And he had no problem with it. On great player, calling out another great player (and future HOF'er) and he actually seemed to enjoy seeing it.
