It never gets old

Vinatieri kicks and Rodney and Butler picks account for 4 amazing game ending SB winning moments and none will ever get old!
Add Adam's kick to tie the snow bowl (and of course the kick to win it, but the kick to tie was an "impossible" kick from the distance).

have rewatched the game and Butler played a great game, not just at the end. Several passes defended. He made the plays that day. I hope it wasn't a Timmy Smith moment.....

I don't have a link or a source, I just remember it. John Madden said it was the greatest kick he EVER saw. That kick, to tie in the snow and Butler's pick to seal it are IMHO the greatest single plays in Pats history.

Yes the Eagles game was the least dramatic but still pretty epic and definitely never gets old.

In the week before the SB to escape the pats cheat 24/7 media I re-watched the SB vs the Eagles. I had forgotten the vicious beating that TFB took that game, sacks & hits. The guy was and is a tough player.

To see how pissed off Butler was after the miracle catch is all the explanation anyone needs as to how he managed to make that pick. As far as Butler was concerned, the Pats were about to lose because he couldn't make the play. Then he gets called back onto the field for the most important down of his career - they trusted him to do his job. He had to have been the most motivated player on the field for that one play.

I wish there was a clean shot of his face when he lined up behind Browner and recognized the play.

I noticed the same thing about Butler the 1st time I saw this clip about 2 weeks ago. The opposite reaction of an Asante Samuel misque.

And Wilson didn't recognize that he would jump the route. In fairness to Wilson, you can see why - Butler didn't tip it off at all. Beautiful football all around, including Kearse's catch, though I think Carroll got a little overconfident.

Good observation.
Browner signals to Butler, probably indicating that this is the slant "pick" play and I've got my guy. Butler, without taking a couple steps forward wisely does not give away to the QB that he (Butler) knows what's coming. Instead his muscles tensed, and he was ready to burst towards the LOS.

No it will never get old, but I am finding I that I want to see more. I'm surprised there hasn't been much in stadium fan reaction videos. Also can't wait to see if there will be new footage on the Championship DVD.

Thanks for posting! That was great hearing their comments during those last few minutes.

Nor will it ever. I know it is only supposed to be a "football game" to us. We all deal with such more serious aspects in our lives, family ,health issues etc etc. There are times over the years I have felt that I have left this Patriot love become overly consuming in the overall scheme of what has happened to me in my life but I have no control. I fell in love with the Game, the Patriots, and now it is part of me and I strongly suspect will remain so until I take my last breath. It will always form part of who I am as a person.
Maybe that is what a being a real "Fan" is ??
Anyhow, to my fellow Patriots let us focus one One For The Thumb.
I must've watched the INT play well over a hundred times, maybe two hundred times. It seems like each time I have an unnecessary twinge of anxiety, like somehow the result will be different. That they give the ball to Lynch, or Malcolm can't catch the ball, or Hightower accidentally hits the ball out of Malcolm's hands while bringing him down (this is more clear in the Inside the NFL type stuff. Hightower brings him down but touches the ball itself which seems to move a bit in Butler's hands.

It's like the play is too good to be true, that the Pats could finally have fortune in our favor again. Felt unreal for a while.

Still awesome!

Is it me or does carroll seem like the little kid in school, who tries to gain attention from the others by being "funny"!
I can't believe he jumps between his OC and Wilson discussing a play trying to be funny ("we never give you one this easy...hehe hehe hehe!)

Dunno if posted before, but this is a really fantastic and entertaining play-by-play recap of the final quarter.

Bill Simmons does a really good job of capturing the emotions and details of that chaotic period in a cohesive set of words.

Some excerpts:

A quick recap: With five minutes left in the third quarter, Seattle took a 10-point lead after Doug Baldwin’s touchdown catch featured the following subplots: the umpire/evil WWE referee picked off Darrelle Revis in the end zone, allowing Baldwin to escape from Revis Island for the only time all night; Seattle covered the “same team will score three times in a row” prop; Baldwin earned a 15-yard penalty for stealing Adam Carolla’s poop-the-football touchdown celebration gimmick (conspicuously omitted from NBC’s live NBC telecast!); Richard Sherman mocked the Patriots by yelling “Twenty-four!” to the sideline cameras twice (seemingly, once for Revis and once for Seattle’s score); and every Pats fan briefly thought I just don’t want to get blown out before rallying and shifting into “COME ON, WE HAVE TOM FAWKIN’ BRADY!” mode.

New England’s next drive: three-and-out.

(Uh-oh.)...

Yup, with all the snow if it was different...
it has stayed fresh for weeks.

Butler said he recognized the stack play and told Browner to jam his guy good.

I can't recall ever riding an emotional roller coaster while watching sports than I did during those last 2 minutes of this Super Bowl.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed reading that. Great way to start my Sunday.
Thanks for posting MC

That Kearse catch still gets my stomach knotted and I keep hoping that Harmon is going to bat the ball away or strip him of it!

Harmon made a huge mistake in not jumping on kearse to make sure he was down.

People keep saying it was a bad call. I looked at the replay many times and it seems that Wilson made a bad throw. Even if Butler weren't there, there's a good chance it would have been an incomplete pass. It looked like he threw it in front of Lockette.
