I'd rather have asked this in the sticky saying there was a DeflateGate forum, but the thread is locked or something.

The main forum now has a bunch of different threads on DeflateGate. Is this now the proper place for them?

I think Ian was simply doing some house cleaning in an attempt to try to set the focus on the right event, which was the upcoming SB.

Not sure where we're discussing it now.

Ongoing discussion goes in the subforum while posting breaking news/leaks/reports makes sense in the main forum.

I vote merge it, everything is relevant in the off-season.
I don't really see the relevance of all the "I hate ESPN" threads in the main forum. We get it, you hate ESPN, as many of us do here, because of all the deflategate stuff that they've written based on extremely light rumors. But we don't need 10 000 threads about that, we get it. It's not about football or the Patriots at this point unless some more actual news come out(the Schefter report should be in the main) it should be in it's own sub forum.

This forum is impossible for most people to use. Combined threads and "special forums". It is micro-managed and censored well beyond the point of being useful any longer. Why not put anything Patriot related in one single thread? Then again, anything football related at all should all be in one thread. Then there would be a nice neat forum, of course it would be useless but that's besides the point. And I know I don't have to read it so don't bother with trying that reply.

IDK, it is the offseason. Deflategate was the biggest story about the Pats this week. I don't know if it needs its own forum at this point. Nothing is going on until March(unless people want to talk about 40 times). Why not let it on the main forum during this dead period.

It's the offseason.

The Patriots next game is Thursday night September 10th.

Obviously, that indicates where I stand on this, but I this morning I put it to Ian and the other mods
I like having it sequestered because it is a cancer.

Great point with that analogy.

Unless you want cancer to spread, you attack it.

I agree, and those "We Hate ESPN" threads should be merged. Let me or the other Mods know which ones on the front page you are talking about and we'll be happy to do that.

One or two of roughly 3,000.

I should add that I don't have a problem with people discussing it, it's just that 2-3 new ones pop up every day. If I weren't clicking ignore (even if I already commented in it), the stuff I'm really interested in would be at the bottom of the page or even on page two.

C'mon.

Fact:

Of the first 28 threads on this forum at this moment, only 3 deal with Framegate........and I'm counting THIS thread in with the 3!

THIS thread
WTF ESPN? thread
Petition for the Opening Road Game in Indy thread

So, seriously, Oswlek, what are talking about?

I'm so sorry that you have to "click the ignore button". It must be very hard to weed out all those threads that are squeezing out the other 88%

All I can say is that I've clicked ignore for a deflateframegate thread no less than 10 times in the past three days, all new threads. It's not my job to follow them after the fact. I obviously made a poor assumption that they are still in this forum since someone else complained about them.

All the deflate gate stuff should be in the sub-forum and it never should've spilled out into here, in my opinion. There is literally no point to the sub-forum if that's now how it's handled. You either want to keep up with deflategate and now have to keep your eye peeled on two places, or you don't want to keep up and the threads are intruding in the main forum.

It probably doesn't matter what's decided- but some consistency would definitely be good. I like reading up on it, but it certainly doesn't need to be in two places. Just leaves people confused where information belongs. Just from a data management perspective it's far less than ideal.

Help me to understand why you have to click "Ignore Thread" instead of simply just not choosing to click on 3 of 28 threads on the page. Doesn't seem like difficult navigation to me, but perhaps you're seeing something different on your computer. Not trying to be sarcastic, just honestly trying to find out what the issue is.
