marrone is with jacksonville as a oline coach or some other assistant coaching job.

rex suks. his teams are very good at getting flagged doing stupid things and they are the best trash talkers the nfl has ever seen. if you want a coach to help your team talk tough then rex is your man.

Ryan wearing a Thurman Thomas throwback jersey? That is wicked f#cking weak! Should Belichick counter with a Tony Collins? Or perhaps Leonard Russell??????

Bill should've worn a throwback Patriot's Curtis Martin jersey.

Rex: You got any advice Bill?

Bill: I can tell you, you remind me of another successful defensive coordinator who had a bit of trouble as HC.

Rex: I remind you of yourself?

Bill: What? Me (chuckles), I'm running out of fingers to put all my rings on. No, I was talking about your dad, he was always a ****ty HC just like you. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the loser tree.

I stand corrected... As a few of you have pointed out, Rex's overall numbers are not so hot. However for some reason his teams were tough for out favorite team to beat head to head. The exception of course is the butt fumble game. :0

I like Rex. If he ever had a QB or a competent organisation he could be very good.

Mangini sets em up, Rex takes it down.

He beat the PAtriots ONE time in the last 4 years. That is 1-7.
Gave Brady trouble? Patriots averaged 28.6 points in those games. THAT is your defensive genius?
Overall he was 4-9 vs the Patriots allowing 27 ppg. This is your argument about how good he .

You know very well that the offense had struggled numerous times against Rex, and that the defense/special teams had been directly or indirectly responsible for many of the points the Patriots scored.

Rex built his defensive genius chops in BAL. Every defensive coordinator for ten years became a defensive genius, and got a HC job. As HC's the defensive "genius" disappeared. One might think it was the BAL players, and not the coaches who made the defense great. Here's the stats for defensive rankings through 6 coordinators, can anyone point to where Ryan took over and made BAL great?

2005-2008 are Rex's defense. He does have the privlege of running the worst Ravens defense in 18 years. Before him Marv Lewis was a genius, then Mike Nolan, then after he left Mattison, then Pagano. All guys who forgot their defensive genius book back at Baltimore. The Ravens defense kept being good, and the teams they took over didn't. Captain Kangaroo could have been a defensive genius at Baltimore. "Hey guys, just keep doing what you're doing."

Its also important to look beyond yardage stats with Rex. He is excellent at putting up good yardage stats but he does it at the expense of allowing a lot of points and rarely taking the ball away.
This is one of the reasons he is so overrated. What would you rather have, a nice yards allowed ranking or few points allowed and a lot of takeaways. The Ryan system favors the yardage stat, which is why it does not win.

No.

I should have specified, those are points rankings.

I

I love facts. It's you I don't like.
Then stop ignoring facts, and thanks, that makes me feel more confident in my opinion.

I read it to fast and thought the rankings were Jets from 09-14 which is why I misunderstood, thanks for correcting me.

Not sure what your point is. Thurman Thomas was a genuinely great RB.

U usually see head football coaches walking around in player jerseys? Bad enough when 50 year old grown men wear Brady jerseys...but a head coach? Really? Probably plays fantasy football too....

Thought the reference was specifically to Thomas.
