Let's shed a tear for the real victim of DeflateGate: Greg Doyel

What's funny about Borges, Breer, and all the other clowns is they like to sell this "I'm not being a fanboy, I'm being objective." line of ********. The Patriots are objectively a great team, have a great coach and great QB. Their run of success is nearly unprecedented, probably only the Niners come close.

How would it look if you were a reporter during the Niners dynasty and just ripped on them about bad drafts, bad picks, bad coach, etc., etc. Basically complaining, while the team is doing it better than anyone has ever done it?

You would objectively look like a f***ing idiot. An idiot who doesn't know **** about football, or history. That's their legacy as writers, the guys that couldn't recognize greatness even when they had the once in generation job of covering greatness. One day people will pull these articles from the archives and be like "What the hell were these idiots watching? Sounds like they're covering a 5-11 team." A legacy of being a dumb ****, captured on the Internet for all to see.

Haters are just as biased as homers. Many times more so. Hate tends to cloud perspective more than admiration.

Think of all of the pain and heartache the Patriots 4th quarter comeback and Malcolm Butler's last second goalline interception has caused Ron Borges, Dan Shaugnessy, Michael Felger, Tony Mazzerotti, Greg Doyel, Bob Kravitz, Tim Benz, Marshall Faulk, Tom Jackson, Mark Brunell, Mike Francesca, John Tomase, etc,etc,etc.....

Then smile.

Feel free to add anyone a-hole crybaby hater you can think of to the list, it just make the smile that much wider.

The Wells report will be worse for them.

I don't remember who Greg Doyel is or what he said....

Me neither. Which is probably his motivation for writing such over-the-top WWWE-style crap.

Felger was especially funny this week crying about how no one has given him a plausible explanation how the Pats' balls deflated and the Colts' didn't. No one has given him a plausible explanation because all the balls deflated. It is impossible for a football to go from a 70 degree environment to a 40 degree environment for an hour and a half to two hours without deflating. If the Colts' balls didn't deflate, then they were tampered with. It defies the laws of physics if they didn't.

The question is what level were the balls at when they were gauged by the refs.
Someone HAS given him an explanation. He just won't accept it.

And Doyel, good lord, did he get paid every time he used the word "lost." The man desperately needs an editor.

He actually responded to people in the comments. So if someone goes over there and leaves him some choice words there's a good chance he will read them since he's such a narcissist.

Poor soul.

Heck, there's a 9 year old girl in Sacramento who could teach him about it:

I don't remember who Greg Doyel is or what he said... The only Indy beat reporter I remember is Kravitz.
Doyel is a thousand times worse than Kravitz.

"......Gregg Doyel, a columnist at the IndianapolisStar, published a column saying that if found guilty, the Patriots ought to be taken out of the Super Bowl. “Here’s how it works,” Doyel told me. “If you write something and it’s compelling enough, it leaves a mark. Boston went nuts over what I wrote. You know why? Because I left a mark. I’ll take that.”

This guy isn't a journalist, he's just out there trying to "leave a mark":

Maybe he just needs to dial back on the chili.

kravitz is worse. washed up reporter looking for a story.

i cant wait til we play the colts next year. im in favor of running up the score!:D

Not only is Doyel a professional troll, but he also can't take any criticism or recognize satire. I mentioned this in the "Michael Hurley '06 Dolphins '07 Patriots" thread on the main page, but Hurley wrote a column a couple of weeks ago poking fun at the over the top claims and recommended punishments made by Kravitz and Doyell. In this article, Doyell is not only deeply offended by Hurley's column, but he's not sharp enough to realize it was a parody.

In his column where he points out how everyone is a loser in the DeflateGate deal (of course leaving out how ESPN covered themselves with crap), he takes time to point out how he is a victim in all of this for speaking up for the rest of the country despite being berated by both Pats and Colts fans for being a petty loser.

From his latest column:

Sympathy cards and flowers can be sent to Doyel care of the Indianapolis Star.

BTW, he never mentioned poor Jim McNally who is clearly the biggest victim in all this (at least until the Wells Report comes out and the Pats are either convicted or exonerated). McNally for nearly a day was painted as some underhanded figure who knowingly tried to sneak a tainted ball into the AFCCG and never received as much as an apology. Yet Doyel feels bad for himself because fans from both the Pats and the Colts attacked him on Twitter for being an arse.

If I am ever granted the pleasure of meeting Doyle, I will dope-slap the guy. I have never read a more self-centered excuse of a writer in my lifetime. I hope a lot of people give him a whack wherever he goes....even his kids should dope-slap him.

notice the whiny little POS Has to throw in 'i find it impossible to give a cheating franchise like the patriots the benefit of the doubt.' so hes still working it. He plays it like its a known fact that the patriots cheat and have always cheated.

In my personal experience, the people who like to throw the most crap at other people have the thinnest skins. They like to play the role of bully, but cry like babies when they are bullied themselves.

Martin Luther King had a dream, a dream of a better world.

I have a dream as well, but my dream involves Greg Doyel and a wood chipper.
