Montreal can win if they simply prevent Toronto from getting the ball out of the endzone by scoring a "rouge" for a one point. That's why Toronto kicks it out after the missed FG and why Montreal kicks it back in. They didn't have to recover it in the endzone. Simply tackling a Toronto player in the endzone would have won it for them.
Outside the US, soccer has priority, and football is played as the opener. When the football game threatens to end in a tie and go into overtime, the soccer team comes out.
