2/18/2015: Schefter Blows Up ESPN's Earlier Story

"...liar and cheater...". Think about the irony in those 3 words from Ronbo...
I feel like deflate-gate (god I hate even legitimizing it with a name) is the last thing for Ronnie to hold onto in his fourteen year quest to discredit and besmirch the Belichick/Brady era. He's been wrong more than any other journalist in the region. He spent a chunk of his career belittling the greatest coach and QB ever, now all he can do is fruitlessly attempt to chip away at the legacy.

My guess is that he's furious at Kensil for not letting him in on the conspiracy. Dunce.

There were none that I saw. We all know Borges well enough to not waste time on him. Ron's fifteen seconds of fame was getting to gleefully needle Brady about being a liar and cheater to his face shortly before TB12 went out and made himself the greatest of all time.

I forget exactly what it was, but wasn't the premise of Borges' questions in that press conference completely wrong? Wasn't it something like "The Colts linebacker could tell the difference, why couldn't Brady?" Then, a few hours later it came out that the linebacker that intercepted the ball said he didn't notice anything strange about the ball at all.

It's too bad that he is the HOF voter for New England. It wouldn't be a stretch to predict how he would vote on BB and TFB if it were held today.......

Basically said your an idiot if you believe in any of the arguments defending the Patriots, especially the scientific explanation because why didn't it affect the Colts balls? And apparently whatever Wells turns up won't be believable. So even if the Patriots are not found guilty it means nothing. That's all you need to know. It's trash per usual.

However a wonderful thing happened when I clicked that link and began skimming. I just started to smile wider and wider. I didn't get annoyed or pissed. I just remembered that Borges is a plagiarizing weasel who is clearly devastated by the Pats continued success ever since mocking them in 2001 for drafting Richard Seymour and Matt Light. Oh and he hit a cripple.

A wonderful thing happened when I read the piece.

It became obvious, merely from the writing, that it is a drug or booze induced rant. No one could write such a circular, repetitive, hysterical piece without being highly impaired.

Of course, the same competent editors who greenlighted Tomase's abomination let this one get through too.

No one who knows language and writing can read that and NOT come to that conclusion.

Right now, Ron Borges is Joe McCarthy circa 1957.

Borges still ignore me after I bombard his email with... "where in the flying "f" did you pull **** out of your dumb ass about Jackson knew about the deflated ball? Jackson himself said he didn't notice **** you stupid ass."

And yes I still send it multiple times to this day.:D

Bingo. You hit it right on the head.

Borges DID ask that assumptive question.

And he has never been called on it.

He'll be the 1% that doesn't vote for them, in that case.

His vote will get lost in the landslide (If he hasn't drunk or sniffed himself to death by then).

Just like his career.

Remember how, when Ballghazi first broke, the NFL emphasized the sacrosanct routine and rigorous, almost military-style preparation of its game balls? How each team has a specialist whose job it is to get those balls exactly to their quarterback's liking while staying within the rules? That the Patriots could have gained some immeasurable, championship edge from a few extra tenths of PSI?

********! All of it! No one knows anything about the balls. No one's keeping track of them. Random doofuses are roaming the sidelines, pocketing game balls and swapping in random ones they found in a closet somewhere. Non-approved balls are showing up on the field in a conference championship game, and no one knows why or how or where the real ones went. How often does this happen? We wouldn't even have known about this one if the NFL hadn't been investigating the other ball-related maybe-shenanigans

I still don't get Tosh. He is occassionally funny, but he just likes to say outrageous things for shock value. But then again, I am not his target audience although I ain't much older than him.

Didn't watch the Tosh video, he hasn't been funny for a long time. Not to mention, it's rather ironic that he's making fun of Tom Brady for hair plugs when his own receding hairline has magically healed in the last couple years.

The Pats could have missed the PAT because of this guy.

Daniel Tosh had funny writers that have obviously left him at this point. His material has been borderline horrid for, at least, a few years now.

Daniel Tosh joke generator:

- Identify some minority group.
- Identify a stereotype about this group.
- Make recycled joke about said stereotype while looking like a douchebag.

Repeat.

I'm a Tosh fan (and obviously a Pats fan as well), and thought it was funny. He's a Dolphins fan and always goes off on rants like this, he's a comedian so it's not like he's some hack ESPN analyst. This is what he does, and he offends everyone.

Plus, the best part is at the end of the rant he says something like..."and why not go to Miami...? They're losers!"

ESPN Hack tried to put false story into public's eye

A hack for the ESPN gossip site tried to introduce an unsubstantiated story into yesterday's newswire, the same network at the center of the cooked-up, botched "Deflategate" allegations, four sources familiar with the investigation told "Outside the Lines."

One source said that the writer assigned to fabricate a story, identified as 38-year-old Kelly Naqi, has been interviewed by investigators for Robert Lipsyte, the ombudsman the NFL hired last year to lead an investigation into allegations ESPN used unsubstantiated stories on virtually all of their reporting throughout history.

Three sources said that Naqi has worked ESPN hatchet jobs for a decade, and has been in charge of misleading readers since 2005. In the first half of ESPN's morning meeting, the sources said, Naqi tried to give the out-of-context, doctored story to an alternate editor who was in charge of the Patriots smearing department. Those stories are known as "rating boosters" or "bonus stories."

Before every ESPN broadcast, stories are inspected and measured by ESPN editors in their conference room before they can be approved for publication. The "smear jobs" are used to boost ratings by spreading unsubstantiated rumors and lies

An "Outside the Lines" reporter approached Naqi at her home earlier this month, but she said, "I can't talk to you," waving the reporter away as he walked up her driveway.

Naqi is an ESPN employee hack married to a league crony who is likely involved in a shameless, gutless smear campaign against the league's model franchise and reigning world champions.

It is not known whether Naqi is the same writer who reportedly ducked into a bathroom with a pen for 90 seconds before bursting out of the bathroom covered in toilet paper and a hastily written crock piece. On Jan. 26, FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer reported that a gullible, low-integrity writer from ESPN allegedly took a company pen "from the ESPN conference room to another area" on the way to the editor's room, and that Wells' investigators have video of that. Pro Football Talk later reported that the writer stopped in a restroom with the pen for 90 seconds. That hack writer, according to Foxsports.com, is a "strong person of interest."

The NFL, through a spokesman, told OTL: "We're not commenting on the details of the ongoing investigation."
