The 2015 NFL Combine Thread

Look with the RB measurements completed:

- Todd Gurley: 6' 0 5/8" 222#; 32 1/2" arms, 10" hands
- Melvin Gordon: 6' 0 5/8" 215#; 32 3/8" arms, 9 3/4" hands
- Jay Ajayi: 5' 11 6/8" 221#; 32" arms, 10" hands
- David Cobb: 5' 11" 229#; 31 5/8" arms, 9 3/8" hands

Ereck Flowers reportedly with 37 reps @ 225, per Gil Brandt. With 34.5" arms.

Loved that Abdullah was up to 205lbs today as we've never drafted a sub 200lb RB before (hand size was disappointing though)..

And I loved Smelter's 11" hands. Would like to point out that Gronk has near 11" hands and Tim Wright has larger than 11" hands so it's a good measure to have as a potential Patriot.

I also saw someone on Twitter say that Jean Sifrin expects to run in the 4.5s.
@JoshNorris: #MissSt RB Josh Robinson: 5'8" 217 lbs - 29 3/4" arms - 10 1/8" hands.... thats unique.
And Michael Dyer, too: 5'8" 218#, 30 5/8" arms, 9 1/2" hands
They are both unique!

Gurley won't work out at Georgia ' s Pro Day, per Dane Brugler.

Cam Erving had 30 on the BP, Cann had 26. For comparison, Cameron Fleming had 26 last year.

Scherff a little disappointing at 23.

Cedric Ogbuehi with 23 reps - not bad given his long arms.
DJ Humprhies 26 reps
La'el Collins 21 reps

For TEs, Jesse James and Jeff Heuerman with 26 reps each. Maxx Williams with 17 - he didn't expect to do well. Blake Bell with only 14.. Clive Walford with 20 reps, 21 for Nick O'Leary.

Most impressive interview from day one? #Minnesota TE Maxx Williams. Owned the room. Confident. Only 20 years old. Very, very impressive kid

Me likey. :)

Erving wont fall to 32. Pats might have to have trade up if they want him.

Excellent post. Scherff, Clemmings and Collins all seemed a little low, but then so were Zack Martin, Bitonio and Frederick so I'm fine with those numbers. And anyway, they don't play weak.

As a point of reference for today, Joel Bitonio's star numbers last year. Nate Solder's are in brackets.:

40 - 4.97 (4.96)
Vert - 32" (32")
S Shuttle - 4.44 (4.34)
Broad - 9.6 (9.2)
10 Yard - 1.68 (1.72)
3-cone - 7.37 (7.44)

I wonder how close we came to drafting Bitonio?

Saw a video with Ali Marpet in which he says he'll be top 5 in most categories. If he hits near those Bitonio numbers, he becomes very interesting.

Randy Gregory 6'4 7/8" and only 235lbs. That's going to hurt him I suspect. Needed to be over 240b to go in the top 5 or even 10.

According to Daniel Jeremiah.

Edit:

On the other hand, Vic Beasley is 246b. Some were saying he would struggle to get to 230.

Ray 6'2 5/8 245
Fowler 6'2 5/8 261
Beasley 6'3 246

Weight and arm length don't correlate that much with the bench press as one would think. Tyron Smith was an undersized OT who played at under 300# for his college career. He bulked up to 307# for the combine, and had 36 3/8" gorilla arms, but still put up 29 reps.

I don't think teams put a ton of stock in the bench press. A good result is impressive, but a bad result doesn't necessarily mean much.

I think questions get asked if he's under 20. If an OL is putting up the same numbers as a WR, then I'd be a little bothered. I'm not concerned, I just thought Scherff would be one that would kill on the BP so my initial post reflected my surprise.

I will be bummed if that happens. I'd already put Marpet in my "sweet spot" short list to target in the 96-101 range. Your former binky Terron Amstead blew away the Combine in 2013 with very similar measurables to Marpet (6' 4 3/4" 306#; a 4.65 40, 34" VJ and 31 BP) and ended up going #75 overall to the Saints.
