Vereen - stay or go?

If Vereen's agent is floating $5 million a year, there's no point in even talking. Just move on.

Might as well close this thread. $5 million a year ain't happening. Vereen's agent should be tested for substance abuse.

5 million per is quite the goal... I don't know if someone would pay that. I do know if they did it won't be us.

Why on earth would we pay $5M for a running back that isn't a good runner, and not that great of receiver. He's basically our 4th guy on the stat sheet, but wants to be paid like the second, over Edelman and LaFell, while he produces less than then.

For some teams he would be worth it. for the patriots Vareen isn't worth half that

i read that the cowboys offered the nfl rushing leader ( murray ) 4 million a year...
so vereen wants 5? lol

Agreed. Can't blame Vereen for hoping to cash out, but it won't be $5 million a year with the Patriots.

Look on the bright side, 5m can hurt another team cap space.

Maybe to the Rats.

How else are they going to get a Superbowl ring into their building?

If he's looking for $5M per, then best of luck to him. I don't begrudge him that at all, and he was great for us in the Super Bowl. I just can't see him getting that kind of money here, or even anything close enough that a compromise could be reached.

I dunno if he'll get $5M per from someone else, but if he does then good for him.

Vereen is hopeful to land a contract worth at least $5 million per season, according to a source. Now, that's obviously a sign of a player who wants to start high with his negotiations with the realization that the price will drop throughout the back-and-forth with his suitors, but the desire to get paid means he'll almost certainly hit the open market March 10 for the beginning of free agency.

David Dunn really sucks at gauging his clients market.

Good for Vereen as already stated but he ain't getting $5Mill from the Patriots. Good thing 3rd Downs RB's are a dime a dozen.

If he's looking for $5M per for Vereen, I can't imagine what he's looking to get for Solder. Ridiculous.

john elway will pay him 5mil to replace welker . He has a thing to sign pats players and call arms race.

What is Trent Richardson doing these days? He fell out of favor with the Colts we all know he can run some and also catch. A change of scenery might do him some good.

I think he will get 3.5 in the market and the Patriots can match that. Not one penny more though.

This might be a nice year for the Pats to Draft their future Left Tackle who would be able to sit for a year and take over after Solder leaves.

He'd kill with the falcons.

roddy white, and Julio on the outside, and the ability to throw screens to vereen in the flat.
