The combine is when all the tampering occurs. Over the next 48 hours, Revis will be getting offers from potential bidders. He'll know his market. And, be prepared to roll up his sleeves and negotiate with the Pats.
The Pats are a market-price team. If they want to keep Revis (and I assume they do), then they will make a legitimate market price offer. If Revis wants to remain a New England Patriots (and I assume he does), then a legitimate market-price deal between two parties that want to reach a deal, has a high likelihood of happening. I've never seen one shred of evidence that Revis is an idiot. He strikes me as a rational businessman -- somebody who should be able to structure a win/win deal with the likes of Bill Belichick, Nick Caserio, and Jonathan Kraft.
Of course you have to allow for the possibility that it could fall apart, but I see no reason to be pessimistic. Every indication is that both sides want to get a deal done that will keep Revis in New England, at top CB money, for the next several years. I don't see the Pats low-balling Revis and I don't see Revis demanding above market money in a new deal. Frankly I don't see him wanting to move to a dumpster fire team for an extra $1 Million a year (which he could probably get on the open market). It's not a home team discount. It's simply the fact that the New England Patriots don't have to pay a premium to attract good players to hell-hole franchises like the Bills, Jets, Bucs, Raiders, etc.
