2/18/2015: Schefter Blows Up ESPN's Earlier Story

Ken, with everything in this saga, it takes baby steps.

The "not guilty" part is a beginning.

The Schefter and Freeman tweets hint that Wells may have already checked that off his list and is turning in another direction - - THAT is what we are looking for. Obviously, Schefter's reporting today was with information he had been squirreling for awhile - - there is too much detail about "Employees #1, 2 and 3" for it to have been all told and confirmed to him in the hours immediately after Naqi's report.

To me, all this points to Wells heading for other directions in the affair. We now have culpability in the handling of the K-balls - - culpability carried out by a person or persons under Mike Kensil's supervision, with Mike kensil knowing about Employee #1's past history. This is a pomegranite that is opening.
Your lips to God's ear, buddy. Its looking a lot better than it did yesterday, and maybe NFLN can take a bow for not jumping on the OTL story. I wonder what they knew, or if they knew how bogus it was.

I guess my problem is I want both complete vindication, AND blood. Without the blood, the vindication will ring hollow. But that's just me, and as you have said, blood might soon follow.

One comment I read in someone's post was to watch and see if Welles doesn't interview Brady and BB. If he doesn't THAT would be a great indication that Kensil, and Irsay better be worried. Unfortunately, like the Revis and McCourty deals, only time will tell. ;l)

why is Schefter quiet about this on his twitter account?

https://twitter.com/adamschefter

this has me worried....

I don't believe Shefter has tweeted anything at all about Deflate-Gate and I'd just take his lack of tweets about this story to be in keeping with that decision to not clutter up his account with this nonsense.

He called into ESPN's Outside the Lines and he did a live report on the NFLN within the hour about the/his exact same breaking story.

Meanwhile, the Smartest Man in the Room(tm) Gary Tanguay hastens to point out that this doesn't mean the Pats aren't lying liars who are guilty guilty GUILTY!!

BTW- as of 5:45, not a single word about this breaking story from one of their own has hit the ESPN-US page or their Boston page. That's not surprising, they are probably still in meetings trying to figure out the best way out of this. A bit more surprising is that the NFLN has to date said anything about it.

If this all holds up, there's no doubt that this will be the sweetest sports championship of my life, surpassing the '04 Sox and '01 Pats.

The comeback against Baltimore, the subsequent Harbaugh whinefest, the beatdowns of Indy (twice) and Denver earlier on, the Sherman **** talk and priceless reaction gif, the Deflategate ********, the idiots coming out of the woodwork, Brunell's tears ... capped off by a ring and a lot of egg on a lot of faces?

Hard to top that.

"The Season of Win"!

Lol. Tanguay is a huge joke. Even his media counter parts laugh at his expense.

Disappointed in Mike Reiss right now to tell you the truth. But I guess he has to feed his family, and I can understand that.

This just gets more and more absurd with each passing day. The NFL office just looks more ridiculous with these developments in a year where you'd think they couldn't look any more ridiculous. It's time for Goodell to ride off into the sunset.

I don't think there is any direct evidence Kensil is necessarily the one doing the leaking here. Supposedly three separate sources "confirmed" the first story,

Supposedly, three sources confirmed that McNally works for the Pats. Only one made the claim re: the football.

Here's a comment from another forum, after the Schefter report came out:

That's what we're up against.

I agree Deus; even though I will keep fighting about this, I understand that most of the minds are already made up and difficult to change.

That said, I hope we can convince a few of the more popular national media guys to realize the smear and misunderstanding that's been going on and explain in a more rational manner that could maybe change the opinions of some.

For eg: since all the cameragate tapes were not destroyed, I wonder if there is any way Jay Glazer can be convinced to share a tape with the public.

http://deadspin.com/383677/jay-glazer-owns-the-nfl

Though that will not necessarily change anyone's impression immediately, here is what I hope some can be gently prodded to understand:

As Glazer indicates, the Pats made no attempt to hide what they were doing and is horrified that the Pats were 'brazen' about it.

Why?

Truth is simple: it is because they never thought they were breaking the rules.

I fully believe in BB's interpretation that he thought he could tape as long as the tapes were NOT used for the current game. Because, if BB did indeed plan to use it for the current game - the cameraman has to keep passing out the tapes after every brief recording to someone else, who has to rewind and go over all the signals, compare each signal with the situation, and then make sense out of it - would the camerman be filming the cheerleaders, the 'T and A' in stands and other stuff that WILL be a massive hinderance to the guy hurridely viewing them as he prepares to decipher the signals to be used in that game?

This almost certainly indicates that those tapes were meant for viewing in a more relaxed manner and as as BB disclosed, a small part of a big 'mosaic' that goes into planning against teams.

Most of us Patsfans know this.

Can we make some in the media also be aware of this and raise the right questions by going against BSPN?

That is where I hope Kraft steps in and funds some effort to fight back and clean our smeared reputation.

Damn Mike for wasting his time on irrelevant ish right now, like who the Patriots might be interested in taking this year in the draft. Doesn't he know there are more important things to talk about?

Well, just because he was found not guilty of killing that one guy doesn't mean he didn't kill anyone else, now does it?!

I'm right there with ya, Ken - - -post #6 in this thread.

I didn't see the link.
It's in the thread entitled Michael Hurley's on NFL o6 Dolphins, etc. Its about 8 down on the front page. Enjoy
