Larry Fitzgerald restructures with Cardinals

As long as Amendola restructures and the receiving corp stays healthy, I am content with what the Pats have. I would like to see Dobson rebound from last year or get a 3-4 WR type, but at full health, this is a top 10 receiving corp. If they add more than a 3-4 WR, I won't be upset, but this team didn't need Larry Fitzgerald.

I would rather spend money on both lines.

Boo, I think he was everyone's favorite candidate for "hopping on the Pats bandwagon to get a ring" express.

Oh well.

Am I the only one to hope that this is the last Larry Fitzgerald thread ever on this site?

I mean, c'mon folks, he's no Adam Seward.Adam Seward.jpeg

@jeffphowe: Cardinals GM Steve Keim confirms they've reached a new deal with Larry Fitzgerald that is essentially a two-year deal. Took a week.

The Patriot that never was

Anyone have a gif. of Charlie Brown having the football snagged away at the last second? The story of the Pats and Larry Fitz. Every. Single. Time.

Seattle fans thought he was coming their way.

wait, what? I thought he and JJ Watt were coming to the Pats for Mallett?

Can we finally put the nail in the Larry Fitzgerald to the Pats coffin?

When all said and done, did Fitz take a pay cut? Does he really think Carson Palmer is going to take him to the promised land?

I've only seen a few numbers, so don't have everything on the contract. But from what I've seen he takes a paycut, but gets more from the Cards than he's actually worth.

This contract still overpays Fitzgerald. Arizona was dumb not to just cut him and say 'come back to us with the best offer you get' (which would've been 8m at most)

Depends what you mean by pay cut. He probably reduced the amount of money he was NOT going to get paid in exchange for increasing the amount of guaranteed money that he IS going to get paid.

We'll have to see the real numbers when they trickle out. On the surface:

He was going to get ZERO from the Cardinals without a restructure because they were in cap jail. He's now reportedly going to get $22 million guaranteed for two years. If that's true, it's probably more than he could get on the open market. Hard to call it a pay cut.

It was never meant to be
