How do you get through the offseason?

Other than that there is the NHL - and though it is difficult for those living in New England to consider right now - things like barbecues, boating, the beach, pool parties, etc.

Bruins and Red Sox. NFL offseason is usually pretty damn interesting too - will be for the Pats this year.

In the off season, I catch up on other projects. Outside of football, I play a lot of wargames. Toy soldiers, dice, etc. I make some money painting those same toy soldiers for other folks, so this "dead time" gives me the opportunity to catch up on orders and other stuff I've set aside while football is in full swing.

I'm a single father with a teenaged daughter, so another BIG chunk of my time is taken up with her. I understand now why my own father drank. :)

As to other sports, I'll watch the Sox whenever they play the Yankees, and follow the Bruins loosely. I could never get into basketball or soccer. I liked playing them, but got bored to tears watching it.

So now I get to set aside some time for Patsfans.com, work on my toy soldier projects, and spend time with my daughter. Until the draft. Then it's back to the same until the start of TC. Then it's all Patriots Football for another season.

I do just fine by discussing things here...of course that's in normal offseason circumstances when I don't have to deal with new cheating scandals from ESPN.

Time will eventually detach me from the thought of football and I'll move on. Free agency will be my last gasp. Then I'll start to wander away, to Game of Thrones, and some other hobbies and interests, until I finally start to feel the fever come anew with the next season approaching.

I don't know. Maybe winning the Superbowl will affect my off season habits this year. Usually I wind down after the season ends until I'm not thinking about it at all, go through a few months with it barely crossing my mind, then start to wind myself back up again until I'm back here wishing the preseason was over.

Spend too much time on here, play more Madden and shift to focusing on the Sox

Your wish is their command!

There's no "getting through" an offseason which began with a parade, folks. There's only savoring.

Since the moment Plaxico Buress caught that pass in the corner of the end zone, we have been waiting for this feeling and this moment that we felt belonged to us. Ring #4. I've been waiting to the point that in the past, I very regrettably wished for these offseason months to blow by as fast as possible, just to get another opportunity to feel this feeling. I'll never engage in such a silly practice again, but, I will enjoy this feeling now that it is here.

I'm fine with this offseason going by at a snail's pace. No games, no stress, just team-building with the monkey off our back, with the ghosts of Glendale defeated, and with Brady & Belichick's hands now fitted with four rings.

We are four-time NFL champions. Enjoy every minute of it.

Yeap, this my routine too, but this year its a lot easier after winning the super bowl.

Outside of football, I play a lot of wargames.

OT: My younger brother is big into war games. Computer and board games. Some moves take days using phone as interface. He's been doing it for over 30 years.

We're expecting baby #2... so that means listening to my wife complain till august. Then the season begins!

Haha fellow wargamer myself as well. And I agree with gwedd time to start up my focus their again painting and playing.

I freeze myself and unfreeze myself in august

In reality, big into fishing (saltwater-BF Tuna/stripers/blues) Skiing, Hiking, Golf, --- you know, anything that costs way too much money

Problem is you can't look at it like September 10th is your goal cause it is just to far away.

I go from event to event. Also honestly once preseason starts it really gets SO much easier for me.

I am not big on the combine but I do enjoy FA and the draft a ton. I like that they stretch it out. Why not? In fact they should stretch it out more cause it is all dead time anyway.

I wouldn't mind 1; 2; 3&4; 5,6,7 and add an extra day. I think round 2 could easily stand alone as it has a lot of strong players usually.

I've watched the Super Bowl (start-to-finish) from DVR 4 times already. Plus a lot of the shows like Inside the NFL and Turning Point...

I have a strange fascination with Youtube videos showing Seahawks fans react while watching the Butler interception. That's probably not healthy...

I will buy a bunch of championship gear, DVDs...

It would be much, much harder had we lost the Super Bowl to make it to next season. I'm good for a while!
