Early mock. We can cut VW and still be slightly over if it's at 143m. That's without; McCourty, Gostkowski, Vereen, Branch, Casillas, Ridley or Connolly. We've got some work to do. Not dire. But, a little challenging. Extending Revis allows me to keep McCourty, Branch and Casillas. First year hit on DMAC lower with a longer pact. I'd slow play RB and see what's available. We have a lot of in-house candidates. And, I like a guy like Ahmad Bradshaw if he's cleared medically. Broke his foot. I think Vereen and Ayers flashed enough to get bigger deals elsewhere. Torn on Gostkowski. He's really good. But, we kicked one FG in our playoff run. A chippy against Indy.
Here's my horizontal board. Top 31. These guys will be gone when we're on the clock at 32.
QB - Winton and Mariota
RB - Gurley and Gordon
WR - Cooper, White, Parker, DGB and Devon Smith.
TE - None
OL - Scherff, Peat, Collins, Flowers, Fisher and Erving
DT - L. Williams, Shelton, Goldman and M. Brown.
DE - D. Fowler, Armstead and Dupree
LB - Gregory, Ray, McKinney, Beasley and Shaq Thompson
CB - Waenes, PJ Williams and J. Collins
S - L. Collins
Who ya picking? I want 6 positions in the first 4 rounds. DE, G, DT, WR, and G.
1. I've been mocking Odighizuwa because he'd be strong vs the run. Could go more of the pass-rusher type in Orchard or Harold. Gil Brandt thinks Harold is a 4-3 de. Clemmings is still there too. Along with Cann. Or, a couple of dt's like Davis and Phillips. Diggy or a trade back for me.
QB - B. Hundley
RB - T. Coleman, A. Abdullah and Duke Johnson
TE - M. Williams
WR - J. Strong, S. Coates, B. Perriman, N. Ogholar and P. Dorsett
OL - Clemmings, Humphries, Cann, Ogbuehi, Grasu and Donovan Smith
DE - N. Orchard, M. Edwards, Preston Smith
DT - C. Davis, J. Phillips, M. Bennett
LB - E. Harold. D. Perryman, E. Kendricks, P. Dawson
CB - M. Peters, A. Carter, Ekpre-Olumu
S - A. Harris and G. Holiman
I'd probably go guard here. Poutasi, Tomlinson and T. Jackson are there. I think Tomlinson would be an anchor at one of the guard spots for 7-8 years.
Still on the board headed into the third. I rank em L-R. So, the guys on the right won't be there at 96, 97 and 102 IMO.
QB - B. Petty, Grayson - Maybe neither go in 3rd
RB - J. Ajayi, TJ Yeldon, D. Johnson, D. Cobb, M. Davis - Some good players here
WR - R. Greene, T. Lockett, J. Harper, J. Hardy, T. Montgomery, T. McBride
TE - D. Funchess, C. Walford, J. James, J. Heuerman
OL - J. Poutasi, R. Dismukes, A. Kouandijo, T. Jackson, T. Sambrailo, R. Havenstein, A. Marpet
DE - D. Hunter, T. Flowers, M. Golden, H. Anderson, M. Valles
DT - E. McCarthy, J. Mbu, M. Hardison, X. Cooper
LB - H. Kikaha,
CB - Q. Rollins, K. Johnson, DJoun Smith, J. Glenn, S. Nelson
S - C. Prewitt, C. Hackett, J. Tartt,
That's 40 names. How bout?
3 - 96 - M. Hardison - DT - Arizona St
3-97 - T. Lockett - WR - K-St
4 - 102 - A. Marpet - OL - Hobart
4. 132 - J. Heuerman - TE - Ohio ST
Not flashy. But, I think we're a lot tougher on both lines and at TE. Lockett is Amendola's replacement. I'm giving him another year before he's cut.
