Another Globie Who Threw The Pats and Their Fans Under The Bus to The Rest of The Country

Why should he be ashamed of himself? He wrote an article about a football team he didn't advocate for genocide or something...

"Wrote an article"????

Way to respond to a link WITHOUT VIEWING the link. That's the definition of a "knee jerk reaction".

But,by now, we all know where you're coming from, fnord.

.....and there are things to be ashamed of short of genocide......for most people.

.

that's a three week old video. how much can that really upset you.

I just saw it today. It doesn't upset me, but it is fair game for comment. Why can't someone comment on it?

How many Trent Dilfer videos were shown 4 months after his KC postgame comments?

There's no statute of limitations for holding media accountable.

Why would you want it swept under the rug?

One thing that gets under my skin just a bit about this.

The instant you hear something about the Patriots everyone thinks instant guilt. No other NFL team has to deal with that even though they all cheated in the past too. Also the Pats past cheating was honestly really about nothing.

People should understand the background motivations of media sources. It helps the reader/viewer to better understand why or why not to fully accept what they are bombarded with day in and day out.

I wonder how many folks bought the Boston Globe Patriots Commemorative book titled "Pumped" without understanding.

This Silva guy went out of his way in that interview to pull a classic Steve DeOssie move to ingratiate himself to his interviewer (at the expense of Patriots fans).

That's two-faced and cowardly - - just like DeOssie.

In this thread, someone talking about knee jerk reactions while simultaneously having a knee jerk reaction to an article and saying a mans family should be ashamed of him for earning a paycheck...

Has anyone even commented on the Falcons crowd noise thing since it was reported? Nope. Didn't even last two days in the newscycle. Slightly deflated footballs with no idea what caused it or how much they were deflated and the media wants to send Brady and Belichick to the hangman.

Deflation caused by natural causes OBVIOUS to anyone taking HS physics...OUTRAGE

Piped in crowd noise DELIBERATELY intended to gain competitive advantage...CRICKETS

It does not take a tin foil hat to notice the dichotomy

These guys aren't advocates for the teams or for fans. They're in it for the paycheck. The sooner you guys lose the fantasy that they're 'on our side' the sooner we'll stop getting the biweekly shrill 'OMG MEDIA HATES US' threads that have gotten really tiresome.

Yes, some do hate us. But the rest just know that the Patriots are always going to be an easy story. The Browns could have been smuggling heroin and that would be a smaller story than if Belichick got a ticket for an expired meter.

It's the price of rooting for the arguably the greatest franchise in all sports for the last 15 years and one that I'm happy to pay.

Does anyone know a Pats' fan who was fed up with the Pats after DeflateGate? I think it was pretty much universal backing of the Patriots on this one. I want to know where all these Pats' fans who are "fed up with the Pats' organization".

OK, he did not advocate mildly inconveniencing me.:)

Besides, he works for an employer that will be out of business in 5 years. (Yes, by 2020 there will either be no Globe or it will be so different it will be unrecognizable.) Isn't that punishment enough? :)

OT how much would you like a Patriot player visiting the White House take off his shirt exposing a Tee that says "Ask me about Ballgahzi or Bengazi," then answer all questions by talking about the statute of limitations. :)

I knew one guy on Facebook who immediately called for Belichick to be fired, but he's called for that before. He basically has a cycle of: Pats lose a game, he calls for Belichick to be fired for reasons, time passes, he admits he overreacted. So I'm not sure he should even count towards your question :D

The Trent Dilfer video was more of a "look at this sensationalist idiot" moment

this is a video from 3 weeks ago, I can link you to about 20 other news networks bringing in pundits spewing garbage but it doesn't really do any good until were officially absolved. We all know that most likely the Pats did nothing wrong but it doesn't hurt to wait until they wrap this thing up. Bringing it up now just comes across as being "butt hurt" for lack of a better term.

Lets also be real here, when the Pats are absolved its not like you'll have people recanting and national news networks updating the story. It will simply be swept under the rug and thats when its time to bring **** like this out.

They all went to or watched the Super Bowl and made it the highest-watched program in the US. Then they all put their videos of themselves screaming in ecstacy and disbelief at the conclusion of said Super Bowl all over the internet. Then a bunch of them came out in 3+ feet of snow and frigid temps (when the rest of the city can't even get there for work, even through today's date) to cheer on that team they are so fed up with. Now they are home re-watching highlights over and over again and ordering their advanced copies of 3 Games to Glory, Version 4. That's where they are.

I remember when the Globe used to be revered, and I could not wait until Sunday morning for the Sports Section.. now it has descended into bird cage liner..

F... Steve Silva.. another mediot, perhaps he could join the Borges, Felger and Shank ***********.. don't forget the tissues.
