IF Wes Welker retires from NFL, will he sign 1-day deal with Patriots?

All you have to make sure about is
You listed Rodney in your 'clutch players' list, yet he was on top of Tyree during the helmet catch. He should've come up with that play, no different than Welker should've come up with the catch. Sh!t happens. Not every great player makes the play every time.

Who is this? Charley Harrison, Rodney's twin brother?

It was a busted coverage...Rodney was NOT the player responsible for covering Tyree. THAT is Tunescribe's point...but of course, lash out with blind rage. Gotta do something to let loose all that pent up rage and anger that the Patriots just won Super bowl 49.

I'm guessing you missed the superbowl? JE & Danny made all the tough catches. You can have your stats I'll take the Lombardi :)
Did you see the 3rd & 14 catch with the game on the line that JE made while absorbing a crushing helmet to helmet hit from Cam Chancellor? Case closed
Awesome catch. The turning point in the game. Without it, it probably ends ugly for the Patriots. Doesn't change the fact that Edelman drops passes too.
You must be happy your favorite QB has decided to play another season.
You really have the coolest comebacks. You totally don't run them to the ground.

I suggest you go watch that play instead of looking at a snapshot of Rodney doing what he could to try and save another Patriots ass who for some inexplicable reason decided to just stop covering his man in the middle of a play.

If you ever REALLY watched that play, you might have noticed that Asante Samuel pulled up, stopped, and watched Rodney wrestle with Tyree instead of joining in to break up the pass. Had he done his job, the Patriots would've won that game.

Or if Samuel had managed to hang on to the interception that hit him in the hands.

Welker signs a 1 day deal with the Pats and Belichick will trade him for nothing that same day to some loser team like the Raiders or Jets just out of spite.

The Jets don't even deserve that.

Not really a conspiracy theorist but what if Samuel didn't try to stop that catch on purpose because he knew the pats wouldn't pay him.

You're on the wrong side of the tracks to be talking trash about Rodney Harrison.

We'll cut ya'

That throw was right to him. I don't know if I can bear to watch another replay, but I think he possibly could have jumped a bit higher/harder to snag it. d%#*!@t, makes me mad just thinking about it again. I was at that game.

You know what I hate? I hate listening to people who insist "nobody could" just because they couldn't.
For what it's worth, I was an early defender of Ninkovich when people started calling him Stinkovich, too.

So please get over yourself with your "nobody could." Some of us were straight up shocked that Edelman ended up back here after being allowed to test the waters given the Patriots offer.
Then you should have totally been in Belichick's ear before he gave that contract to Amendola. Those 6 million a year could have gone to someone who catches it more than 27 times in a year. Im not saying "nobody could" because I couldnt. I just said I thought Edelman was gonna be better than Amendola, so I was with you. But smarter people than us, without homeristic thoughts, thought it was unlikely he would be as good as he is now. And thank God he is, without him #4 doesn't happen.

The guy was a warrior for us and came up short a couple times. He never made that much money and it wasn't like he was basking in the spotlight of being a #1 diva wr. He did the dirty work. We can also blame Asante or the refs for the Tyree play, blah blah. He's paid his dues having to catch strong safeties with his face the last couple years.

But no, neither side would have any interest in doing that, but I think it would be a hilarious FU to the Broncos and Manning.

I thought this play was much worse than Welker's drop. How he escaped national ridicule is beyond me. His reaction after he dropped it replays in my head anytime I think about 2007.

The Amendola bashing is so twelve months ago.

The dude is a boss. I don't understand the hate. He has completely redeemed himself and justified his contract. He helped us get the #1 seed, helped us get past Baltimore, and came up big in the Superbowl.

Welker has been to 3 f'ing Super Bowls and has a massive 0 TDs....

When it comes to the biggest moments he's not the guy.

No it's not. He caught 27 passes getting like 5 million dollars. That's what Ochocinco basically came in and did in 2011.

He stepped up in the playoffs, but he didn't do anything any JAG WR wouldn't have done.

Edelman is a stud. Amendola, not so much.

But I wouldn't be shocked to hear Amendola > Welker arguments at this point from some of you guys, it's gotten that ridiculous the last couple days.

If I had to guess, Amendola got Welker's contract not necessarily because of a lack of faith in Edelman, but lingering concerns about his durability. This may even be why he didn't get more money.

The talent was obviously there. Anyone who wasn't convinced by Thanksgiving 2012 at the latest, I don't know what they were watching.

I agree, but are you saying Rodney couldn't have made the play?

The point is Rodney could've made the play, just like Welker could've made the catch. Neither was an easy play, but some posters are discounting the contributions of an All Pro WR, the leading receiver in Patriots history, for more or less the same thing.

Then he's an incredible moron, since he would have made more money with a ring than without.
