2015 Draft Prospect Thread

Nice find. A couple of idiosyncratic choices in there but looks pretty good. As for Smelter and McBride both being in the top 100...

Oh yeah!

Glad you liked it manx. I was pretty happy that I stumbled across it. I like how he has Owamagbe and Funchess ranked mid second. If we could trade our first two picks to move in to 2 mid 2nd rounders, I'd find those two to be a pretty good return.

I'd take that. I suggested trading back from our first and up from our second as a good option a while ago and did just that in my latest mock (Odighizuwa and Devin Smith). At the moment Odighizuwa, Smith, Cann, Erving, Maxx Williams, Carl Davis and maybe the likes of Gurley, one or more of the other DTs, Funchess are all prospects I'd be fine doing that with.

I, as well as most everybody else, have DE as a major need, so I'm very okay with OO at DE. I read that Ninko played something like 93% of the snaps this year. That's freaking crazy. Dude is a warrior, but he absolutely needs some help.

If we took Funchess, then we'd finally have that huge wideout to complement Gronk and the others. I can't imagine defenses having to gameplan for two such huge threats. He's a converted TE, so he fits the two tight end system well. He'd be a luxury pick in my opinion, but not one I'd complain about.

I'm going to read up on some more OL to get a better idea of who I like, but that would be my next pick after these two.

1/74 = wow! As for Coates, I'd seen that 1/9. As intrigued as I am by his athleticism, he's coming off the board. Too much risk as another Stephen Hill/Justin Hunter.

And tout away. After last year you are entitled :)

Hill may have been my favorite player in the 2012 draft. I've learned a lesson about chasing "ceiling" WRs with close to no floor. I agree that Coates seems like a project/rookie headache for a team in the same mold.

I wish BB would draft a WR with some type of floor. The last 4 WRs he's spent decent capital on:

Dobson: Didn't crack 700 yards once at Marshall, project type WR.
Boyce: Drafted purely on measurables, little receiving ability.
Price: Ohio option WR
Tate: Injured senior year, WR2 to Nicks.

Someone like Greene I'd be shocked to see bust. 4 year WR on a championship team, route runner, sure handed, played in a pro style offense, etc.

Hah!! Yeah, Mad Bill really is the Dave Kingman of Wide Receiver Drafting!!

I know alot of people on here are very high on smelter, but where do you think he would be drafted if not for the acl injury? I think hell be good but I'm not blown away by the guy.

3rd or 4th round if he runs sub 4.5 is my guess.

Lance Zierlein with a list of 9 guys who should blow away their interviews at the Combine:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...t-prospects-who-should-ace-combine-interviews

Many are guys already discussed for their drive and high character (Abdullah, Mbu, Mauldin). This one was of particular interest to me:
Obum Gwacham, DE, Oregon State
From Zierlein's scouting report:
Exceptional personal and football character with a desire to learn his new position. ... His desire and character combined with his superb physical traits could make him a late-round project who teams show patience with as he gets bigger and continues to learn the position.
Sources Tell Us: "This guy is going to blow some people away with his explosion numbers and teams will love him in interviews because he's a genuinely good guy. As a player, he still needs a lot of time to develop and you better set aside time for that and have a plan for him." -- NFC South area scout.

I love guys who can play in space, and Gwacham's physical skill set has long intrigued me. Nice to know that he apparently has the drive and character. He's a developmental prospect, but one of the more intriguing ones.

He's very intriguing but I think he's somewhere in the 220s I believe. Be interesting to see what he weighs in at.

hes listed at 235, but the few clips i could find, that looks generous.

He definitely has explosion to him though. There is a fun clip out there of him dunking from the free throw line.

Jesse james out of Penn State is a guy im intrigued by, he isnt the best blocker despite his gronk-esq size at 6'7" 254 lbs but is by no means a fake TE like Wright. He is a mid round guy right now but he could move up with a good combine

Man, I'm watching Jordan Phillips vs TCU and I've got to say so far I am not all that impressed. Maybe it was just a bad game, but the dude is just not getting off blocks. I think I came away more impressed with #55, the C for the Frogs handling him one-on-one. The times they did double him, TCU's QB had all day to throw. He's also slow to locate the ball. I could be wrong, and I often am, but I think this guy did himself a real disservice coming out this year.

Interesting comments. I'm hitting Phillips very soon.

Joey Hunt is #55. He's a Junior, next Year.

Thanks for all of the input, OTG. Much appreciated.

That's exactly what I see with Phillips. Not great instincts and can't get off blocks.
