A Thought About Malcolm Butler

I started watching the season again starting from the preseason. I think we easily overlooked his contributions. During Browner's suspension, Butler was the one who stepped in initially (I just finished the Vikings game). He has been more consistent than people give him credit for, and if watch the tape, he's made the sound plays that have had us excited at times for the future of Dennard, Ryan and (going back) McCourty. Not to mention the predraft reports of inaccurate 40 times, when the pats timed him at 4.4 speed. Oh, and it turns out he's smart and listens to BB. Kid just totally got overlooked.

As long as the dude has 2 alarm clocks, I'm guessing he will legitimately be in the mix at CB2/CB3 with Browner, behind Revis, based on matchups.

I've been re-watching the highlights i've made of each game and I have some good clips of him in the Denver game as well.

Arrington had a bad game. He's had other bad games. He's had many more good games than bad.

Sometimes you just struggle....and Matthews had 6 inches on him. I blame some poor coaching in allowing Arrington to get isolated out wide in such a mismatch without any realistic safety help. He gave away a couple of big plays which he really couldn't do much about.

He was arguably the best player on the field during our last Super Bowl against the Giants. Let's remember that.

In years of play any weaknesses would've been noticed by now. We know what they are ourselves already....which is why I was unhappy with some of the situations he was put in.
Careful, talking sense about Arrington is liable to get you labeled a witch and run off the forum.

And as BB said on Letterman, it's a big deal that Butler recovered to make the tackle after the catch.
Norv Turner era Chargers woulda just let him walk right into the endzone lol.

Is that as bad as trying to give a tiny ounce of credit to Peyton Manning? Haha

I feel like at this point we can give him pitty credit, but some may suspect that you're a witch. Do you weigh as much as a duck?

My thought...god i hope they keep this kid
