8: Gronk Spike practice balls
7: Santa Anna winds

5: Left Under Jerry Rice's ego to long

Ant the Number One reason why the balls were deflated

1. They were on their way to Cincinnati.

Usually when I see a Letterman Top 10 list these days, I think 2 or 3 are funny. This matches that or better; I like the Wilfork, Rice and Cincinnati ones at least.

Letterman saying he heard the Colts deflated the ball and Belichick letting him run with it is great :D

You can tell he knows that's what happened.

He likes vets, always has. If you're a rookie and you're late for a meeting, you get your **** slapped. If your Revis, you apologize and play the whole game.

It's always been this way. You earn your right to make a mistake and a rookie needs to earn it over the years too.

Case in point Butler. He didn't start, but his play in practice and all year gave him a chance. Gray had a great game. He also had an extra lineman and a fullback in front of him.

He treats everyone different and there is a veteran to rookie pecking order.
Gray wasn't a rookie and Blount was clearly the better option. Not sure why that's such an issue for some.

If you listened carefully enough, you could pick up that Letterman thought it was possible that the Colts deflated the football and then accused the Patriots.

"If you listened CAREFULLY enough"????????

He freaking centered on it!

Please post his stats before 2014, including the Patriots stats.

"Bount was a better option" is a cop-out and a typical BB response to someone when he wants to give an answer to a somewhat loaded question. BB knew that the "X player was better" here would work because BB knows Letterman has no clue what the stats were.

It is pretty obvious that JG was late and BB was sending a msg. Perhaps JG did not like it and said something but there is no evidence that Blount was going to come any where near the type of production JG had gotten.

BB is notorious for riding a hot hand. JG just put up a rushing record and no way BB dosent ride that until it dies.

BB could not come out and say JG phucked up so he gave his typical "we will do whats best for the team robotic answer.

Maybe this is all a planned opportunity to fight back against the Colts and the NFL over Deflategate; or if not planned, he is taking advantage of the opportunity to fight back like they should have with Spygate.

Keep fighting the good fight BB!

Of course Belichick didn't give us a straight-forward answer, but I'm continuing to think that Jonas Gray's disappearance really was all just because Blount was deemed to be the superior player.
Actually, I think Bill went with Blount simply because he had that "Let me show Pitt. what their missing" fire burning and the Colts were the perfect victim. Frankly I don't think it mattered much which RB we trotted out against that pourus defensive front.

James Develin coulda torched 'em for 150.

Obviously you know there are none but is he really a rookie being he was on his 3rd team in 3 years?

Edit to add - interestingly he's only 1 year younger than Gronk.

I've seen Colbert 'off character' and he is just as funny.

The man is brilliant.

He was widely regarded as one of the best improv comics alive even before the show, so I'm really not worried about Colbert. The guy's simply funny.

I thought he did give us a relatively straight answer, to the extent he all but said it without saying it. He said that once they signed Blount, Blount was their RB, and Gray's snaps dropped accordingly. A bare minimum of reading between the lines gets you to "well, why is that the case? > Because Blount is better".

That was a bit surreal. Nice to see BB smile so much.

Any have a guess to why he bothered to do it? It seems out of character.

Letterman will be nice to BB. And BB will be charming. He'll have one-liners ready, I am sure of it.

Just watched it and I would say I was pretty dead on with this. I don't know why BB would have agreed to go on any show if they were going to treat him badly. Letterman was very nice to BB and the interview had the same friendly tone of the one in 2003.

..isnt the super bowl mvp suppose to be on one of these late night shows?

Depends on what kind of life the Super bowl MVP leads.

If he's the type of person who is an international jetsetter, it'll have to wait until he can get around to it.

If he's the type of person who does Papa Johns commercials, he'll be right over whenever you want him, Mr Letterman!

i will see the show this evening :)

Gronk's played a little. If you want to try capital cases then technically he's not a rookie beyond a shadow of a doubt, but he's never played in the NFL and he had one big game and was late for practice and working on his comedy routine. He's a rookie to those guys in the locker room, believe me.
