Saw this site and don't know how accurate it is - but looks like we have a good chance of a 3rd/7th rounder? seems like they at least have a solid methodology on this...

New England
  • Lost (4): Aqib Talib, Brandon Spikes, Dane Fletcher, LeGarrette Blount
  • Gained (2): Brandon Browner, Brandon LaFell

Jason is usually right on the money with that site. Funny, he's a Jets fan who hates the Pats but loves the way Belichick runs the team.:)

Good to know! and extra 3rd would be huge!

I also want compensation from the Jesters for tampering with Revis. The league made Minny and KC swap picks the last time something like that happened. The 6th we got from TB for their 5th works for me.

Compensatory picks come at the end of the round? So if we got a 3rd, it would be a late third?

Do you really think that roger "I bleed green and white and not just because I have the clap" goddell has the guts to take on the jets?

Your talking about a commissioner that worships the jets and would do anything for them.

Fortunately for us goddell can not fix stupid.

I am mocking picks #98 and #215 as compensatory based on prior drafts.

And we get 4.2 from TB in the Mankins trade. So we'll have three picks between 3.32 and 4.2, if there's three #3 comps we'll have a run there with three picks out of five. The two non comps could be traded, of course, but that's a nice run at a point where there's usually talent left.

That said, this is a weak draft, I wouldn't mind trading out of some of these picks into next year.

Sounds like almost a sure bet that BB turns a 3rd into 2016 2nd, which I would be 1000% okay with.. I don't think we have that many roster spots up for grabs...

I think Blount won't count as he ended back up on the Patriots after he was released by the Steelers. The Pats were credit with gaining Sopoaga last year for comp pick purposes, even though Philly signed him as a qualifying free agent, so it is the team where a player that ends up last who takes the hit. If this speculation is right, the Pats would just get a 3rd rounder for Talib.

Much easier said than done for #96.

I don't agree with this at all. Revis is a once in a generation talent. Patriots and Jets should swap 1st round picks.

Lol I wish. But I don't see the big deal about what the Jets gm said. Revis is a prime time player anybody would want him.

Vince Wilfork signing for the Texans gives us a buffer on getting four additional picks next year. we can afford to sign a non-cut FA and still get the 4 picks I believe. Could be some fun mocks next year.

it also looks like vince fell about 200k below the threshold from being a 5th round comp pick, instead of the 6th round pick. Oh well, I still love ya Vince, just be a little more greedy next time when negotiating with other teams.

I'm expecting #97. Talib was the highest APY qualifying FA loss last year. If we got a comp for Fletcher, which I don't think we'll get because of the re-signing of Blount, OTC's projection would have us landing #252 for him. Our Tenn pick would be #219.

As it stands now factoring in the OTC comp projections we're lookin at:
1-#32
2-#64
3-#96
3-#97 (Comp, Talib)
4-#101 (TB, Mankins trade)
4-#131
6-#173 (TB, Casillas trade)
7-#219 (Tenn, Ayers trade)
7-#252 (Comp, Fletcher)

I also expect a tampering ruling by Goodell soon after the comp picks are announced at next weeks annual meetings in Pheonix (22nd-25th). I'm predicting us and the Jets swap 4th rders (#104 for #131) based on prior tampering rulings. The Jets do not own a 5th or 6th rd pick and our 7th is higher than theirs.
