Role reversal on the last play of SB 49

Now before we get the "Bill would never call such a stupid play" crowd all I'm saying is just pretend he did so we can get opinions on how the Pats players react.

Sorry, but:

01 ~ Mad Bill would never make such a stupid Call.
02 ~ For that to be even possible, it would have to've been a Stupid Call.
03 ~ The Call wasn't stupid. It was shrewd.
04 ~ We'd already stuffed Lynch twice, after all.
05 ~ Doesn't everybody know that??

Ugh I think most have missed the point here. Only 2 people (patsdeb and voluntarysafety) seemed to understand the concept that this wasn't about Tom throwing a terrible sb ending pick but the point was how would the players react to the coaching staff if it did happen. I don't know how more explicit I can be.

If my Aunt Myrtle had a mustache, she'd be my Uncle Vito.

This is an explicitly bad thread topic.

There is much to be discussed these days. Scratching one ear with this is a waste of time.

Other than that, Welcome to the Board! :)

the gubment wants to regulate the interweb.....starting to see why

We won, they lost. We can delay talking about the two calls for a few months, or not. As Kraft said, I'm very happy that Carroll made the decision that he did, and that Wilson executed so poorly, and of course that Butler made a great play.
===============
Someday, we'll have a thread about end of game strategy and discuss the best call with 6 seconds left in the half, and with 40 seconds and 1 timeout left in the game. One week after the Super Bowl is too early to have this discussion for patriot fans or for sea hawk fans.

That being said, with 40 seconds left, there was time for a pass play, a run play and a last play. OR, there was time for a run play and a last play. It is not at all out of the question that Josh would give Brady the chance to win with a pass play if that were available (if not throw the ball in the stands). This was an extra play and Josh and Bill have call them for many years.

Also, at the end of the half, I could see Brady arguing that he had time for two plays, and lobby for a quick pass play.

Was this thread inspired by listening to the 98.5 contrarians who are on from 2-6pm weekdays??
