Schefter: Has Heard Speculation Colts might have deflated the footballs

Screw the F'n Colts. I have suspected them and Harbaugh of tampering with the balls from the beginning. AND there is no question in my mind that this was an attempt to defame the Pats and "teach them a lesson". I hope they find evidence and nail them to the cross. And I don't give a rats *** about who doesn't agree with me. I hope this finally takes a target off our backs (Yes us, the fans too) and defers others from putting us in a corner. It's time to put the gloves on. You can see ppl backing off already.

How come no one is disputing Ian Rappaport's report that only one ball was 2 PSI below what the rule calls for? If that one ball is the one the Colts intercepted, the Patriots should get compensation and the apology Mr. Kraft demanded. What a load of crap.

How long do these hosers have to complete their investigation? Sometimes I think the NFL exists to prop up big law firms.

That guy is a piker (your link is from Jan 23rd and he has walked that back since) compared to Bettis who as of YESTERDAY was still indicting Brady:

http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.co...s-super-bowl-play-call-jerome-bettis-comments

"...."No, it's not over, it's not over for anyone," Bettis said when asked if he felt DeflateGate would just blow over on the Rich Eisen Show.
Bettis, no stranger to handling footballs, announced he was certain Patriots QB Tom Brady was aware of the balls being deflated, as Brady "knew what kind of ball he liked." In fact, Bettis feels the Patriots should face punishment regardless of whether or not a culprit is found.
Interestingly, Bettis cited the current Atlanta Falcons controversy as a basis for ramifications. Bettis stated the addition of artificial noise, such as the fake crowd sounds the Falcons pumped in through the Georgia Dome sound system, serves as a definite competitive advantage. Since deflated footballs also serve as a competitive advantage, Bettis feels punishment handed down to the Patriots should be consistent with any sort of ramifications the Falcons receive....."

It seems like Bettis and Carter are the only ones that are banging this drum loudly. Even Kravitz and Doyel have backed off. It's so hilarious that the Patriots still after all these years make Bettis get mad because they won the Super Bowl.

If the Colts stuck a needle in a ball to check the pressure of said ball, doesn't air escape?? I have not inflated a football, basketball or volley ball in a while, but if memory serves me..

Or is that too simple of an answer???
Not too simple at all. And expect the term "chain of custody" to be bantered about if the only ball well below 12.5 psi turns out to be the intercepted ball that was in Colts possession......If they can't determine if it deflated and by whom with reasonable certainty, this thing will die a slow death. I expect one of these Friday night press release/ document dumps similar to Washington politics when it is least likely to be noticed.....

No, there are many others.

Haley, Jerry Rice, Hines Ward, Troy Aikman, Ian O'Connor, Brunell...............

None of these guys have 'climbed down' from their positions.

..... like Jerry Rice's "apology" tweet last week at midnight PST/3am EST this past Fri/Sat?

Weasels do weasely things.

I'll bet money that if the Colts are found to have stuck a needle in the ball to measure it nothing happens, but if the Pats had done the same it would be a fine and loss of picks. There's certainly more circumstantial evidence that if anyone stuck a needle in a ball it was the Colts, yet they aren't being investigated. I hope Kraft forces them to hold that same standard if any Colts member "checked" the ball.

You consider Jerry Rice a weasel? Interesting.

I disagree. if they stuck needle in ball, and especially if they deflated it, they will lose draft picks and be fined heavily. no way we are getting those picks though

Why isn't he a weasel? Because he was good at football? So was Aaron Hernandez and Ray Lewis, and they're lots of things. The guy said the Patriots Lombardi would deserve an asterisk because of under inflated balls there's no evidence the Patriots had anything to do with. WTF is that?

The old 49'ers went full '72 Dolphins this year. Joe Montana is a weasel too

No, he's conducted himself very honorably, Andy...........

Interesting.
So you either say positive things about the Patriots or you are an embarrassment and a weasel?

weasel is 3rd behind Cheater and Hypocrite. Actually 4th also behind egomaniac. Excuse me, 5th behind dummy also.

I'm pretty sure if the investigation proves they did not, he will clearly say that removes any doubt that surfaced when it was an accusation.

I, on the other hand, feel pretty sure that if the investigation finds no evidence whatsoever that the Patriots tampered with any footballs, Carter (and likely many others) will clearly say that "the NFL just wants this all to go away, thus the NFL is sweeping it under the rug", and that he still feels that that the accomplishments were tarnished.

The investigation is not likely to prove a negative. So we will be exonerated in that the NFL will say that there is no reason to think that we did anything wrong.

We shall see.

Maybe Andy Johnson is confusing Mr. Jerry Rice with someone else who tweets 3am Staurday morning apologies for things he repeatedly stated to the national press.

Can be no other real explanation.
