I’m not talking about the outcome of course. I’m glad we won obviously. I’m talking about how the last Seattle drive transpired.

Everyone keeps on talking about that dumb play call and how Seattle ‘handed’ the win to New England, which is of course ********. If not for that David Copperfield circus catch by Kearse, the Seahawks would have been looking at 4th and long (if I’m not mistaken) back in their own territory. I wish that freaking catch would have never happened, hopefully we would have taken over on downs, and maybe even put another 3 points just for good measure (31-24).

Don’t get me wrong. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and that championship play by Butler was pure money. But all everyone is talking about is how Seattle lost the SB instead of how New England won it. People keep on overlooking our offense and the fact that TB put 4 TDs on the top defense in the league. Last year it was all about how this top defense embarrassed the top offense, yet this year, no one is talking about how our offense pretty much kicked this defense’s ass. We were moving the ball in the second half almost at will.

I just hope the game would have ended differently, without that need for some magic at the end. No one is giving New England the credit and respect they deserve for beating Seattle and winning the SB. We’re only a week removed from the big game, and no one even remembers there was a superbowl just a week ago.

My answer is that all teams make mistakes and Butler still had to make a play.

Interestingly, the fact remains that Seattle had to play error-free football to win and they didn't. The Pats turned the ball over twice leading to scores and still won.

Part of me agrees with you - to an extent. But, on the other hand - winning in that way was spectacularly exciting and made for a moment I won't ever forget. And, to be honest, I would've taken a W if all 53 Seahawks collapsed and died on the field, so at the end of the day I don't care how we won.

We won, we definitely earned it (it would've been the Seahawks who stole a win with that Kearse catch if they finished off that drive). Media can kiss that, to quote Edelman.

It's about 60 minute football - we did it this go around.

Who Cares, C-H-I-L-L-A-X! How would you feel if Kearse's Prayer Reception led into a TD and we lost? It's Sooo much Sweeter winning like we did. Carroll thought he could run that slant and it was a LOCK'ette but little did he know that BB,BB & MB were waitin for it.
What was more annoyin was listenin to Doosh CollingsworthLESS not givin any credit to Pats throughout SB Game and makin excuses for Seahawks.

You want to feel badly? Imagine Seattle handed the ball off to Lynch twice more instead of passing the ball. Anytime anyone suggests NE was "lucky", ask her/him how "lucky" Seattle was on the Kearse catch. I think the Pats and Butler have been given lots of credit for a great clutch play and Brady and the offense have been given lots of credit for a great clutch drive. I sense a little of what you've described, but certainly not enough to regret how everything went down.

Tom Brady's greatness will be remembered in that game and the call will as well, but in the end only two things matter. The patriots won and Toms Mvp. Now when we watch the Brady 6 and the narrator says the next joe Montana was on the field that night he was just playing for the other team..we can smile tip a beer and say damn straight. We are only one Super Bowl win away from the debate between Brady and Montana being over.

I like how the outcome devasted so many Patriots haters and guys like **** Sherman. It made it that much more painful for them that we snatched victory from the hands of defeat!

No one is giving New England the credit and respect they deserve for beating Seattle and winning the SB.

They aren't? I've heard no less than 8 media member in the past week say that Brady is now the greatest QB ever and that NE is now on par with the 49ers and Steelers as far as extended dominance is concerned. How much more credit do you want?

You mean take back that glimmer of hope that every hater felt for a little while after the Kearse catch before having their expectations and wishes and hopes for the patriots to lose come slamming down with the pick?

Na, I kinda cherish that moment

I think football is a game of mistakes and great plays. The people who are talking about Carroll's bad call are mostly people who rooted for the Seahawks (most of America). If the game didn't end that way, they'd be talking about a bad call by the refs or asking how the Pats cheated this time. I think what you're doing is focusing too much on the disbelief that's out there. Read the other stuff. There are plenty of stories about how great the Pats are, how brilliant Butler's play was, how incredible Brady's comeback was, how amazing our defense was, how lucky Kearse's catch was, etc. And there are lots of articles arguing that Carroll's call was not a bad one; it's just that a lot of loudmouths have gone from Deflategate to questioning Carroll's call.

The way we won was fantastic. To go in just a few seconds from the emotional low of expecting to lose to the high of winning was as great a fan experience as Tom Brady's final drive in Super Bowl 36.

Do the NYG fans feel defensive about their 2 lucky wins against the Pats in 2007/2011? Do the Seahawks feel bad that they lucked into SB49 to begin with?

Enjoy the moment :)

I do wish the Pats won by another touchdown or three, but a Super Bowl win is a Super Bowl win. They only award the Lombardi once a year.

Nope, Im happy with the win and glad they made that call, gave our guy a chance to make a play and he did. If Lynch scores from inside the 1 it would have left us roughly 30 seconds to get in field goal range and I am not confident we do that as we don't really have the burners to go get 35-40 yds in a clip. Yes it happens once in a while but not against seattle in that scenario, so i'm happy with the outcome as we took the win like butler took that ball. Case closed

The Patriots scored more points than the Seahawks by the end of the game. The Patriots won the game, and the Seahawks lost it. It was an instant classic finish, I loved it.

If they blew them out, people would be whining about "running up the score" or some other cheating conspiracy... when it comes down to it, our Patriots are SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS, everything else is just noise. Enjoy it! I know I am

Few Superbowls ever live up to the hype, and no Superbowl has been as hyped as this one, the most watched event of all time. This Superbowl has far exceeded the hype. Not only was this the greatest, most dramatic Superbowl ever, it is the most significant sporting event in US history. I wouldn't change a thing about that game.

The focus on the play call is interesting, and I think shows how the media can shape a narrative from very little. Collinsworth announced it was a crazy call, and everyone sort of went along.

Passing the ball in short yardage happens every week in the NFL. It even happenned in this game. But now it's the worst play call in history? I find it strange that a very common call (to pass on goal lines) that few ever questioned has reached this status of worst call ever. Why aren't all the same calls done by every team just as bad? Reason is, it's a temper tantrum that their team didn't win, nothing more.

They like to show the Lynch TD in the game but don't talk to much about the fact that the last two times they were in the red zone Lynch failed to get it in with 0, and 1 yards. They ended up going to the pass to score.

Marshawn has somehow become the legendary "big back" that he just isn't. He's the same size as Gray. I think people mistake his physical style in the open field for being a hammer on the inside. He's 215, Gray is 230, Blount 250.

History will provide context, right now the narrative is that Lynch was an unstoppable machine, he wasn't. He's very good but 4th in yards this year, and 6th last year. He is not going in the history books or HOF.

So when people look back at this game in 10 years and hear how "crazy" it was to pass on the goal line instead of giving it to their sort of pretty good RB that is lost to history in a sea of good but not great guys I don't think it will sound crazy at all. Time will tell.

The shock and awe at the end of the game, joy, to despair, to elation, I will never forget that game, nah that experience is priceless.

I love the ending. "The Pick." Chalk one up for all the defensive players dreams and aspirations of ending the game on a winning play. Exact opposite of AV,Santonio Holmes,Dwight Clark etc. Just freaking awesome.
