Schefter: Has Heard Speculation Colts might have deflated the footballs

Colts may have moved to my #1 hated franchise if this is true

Except I don't think teams can have a pressure gauge on the sidelines. Once the balls are inspected, they cannot be altered in any way. Why would you have a pressure gauge on the sidelines then? If they did, that would actually lead to more questions than an answer to why the intercepted ball could be more deflated than others.
How did they determine the ball was flat if this is the case?

Surely, they could demand a measuring of all balls in play if they were so worried. after all, it's the integrity of the league at stake here.

I'm sure that kensil (or whatever his God forsaken jet loving name is) was hell bent on ensuring integrity of the ball, not creating a witch hunt to force down the refs throats. Just as I'm sure he had nothing to do with spygate or the punishment thereafter...or the utter lack of reprocussions for the same infraction after the fact, or the "coincidence" of the pats filing tampering charges the same day all this garbage is born...

Hey Roger. Where there is smoke, there is fire. I hope to see your mumbling, stumbling, disgraceful mug at the unemployment line. I also hope kraft/bb/brady/ballgeiser take you for every penny you have made in litigation.

My rant aside, if it is true that eleven balls were slightly off, and one much more under inflated, and the intercepted ball to boot...the simplest, easiest explained interaction has nothing to do with the pats, but what a man employed by a drug addict, with another man who has exemplified Pats hate, did to a ball before bringing in the officials and the league.

My wet dream at this point is kraft has stadium video of some infidelity on the Colts sideline. If there is no apology, he hangs the nfl office, and the Colts organization out to dry.

I'm in the mood for another epic Joker rant

"Some people believe..."

Some people here believe that Tom Brady was the love child of Red Grange and the goddess Aphrodite.

That claim has the same amount of evidence to support it as does the Colts intentionally deflating balls.

It is not that surprising that a team which will start an investigation over a deflated football that no one can even tell is below regulation pressure and then invite the media to create an uproar would do exactly this sort of thing. It is exactly what would be expected actually.

I love it.

So Jackson gets ball, goes to sidelines, Colts equip guy takes air out. Tells Colts GM Grigson the deed is done. GM tells Kensildick. He tells officials to start collecting balls and checking the PSI.

I want their draft picks and the Colts to pay a $500k fine.

TB isn't the love child of Red Grange and Aphrodite?

You take a rather benign outlook on something that is as obscure as football PSI. That's where all your problems start.

Finding something that leaves BB speechless and actually rather clueless has all the hallmark traits of a set up.

What was that idiot ex-Jet NFL VP doing down there exactly?

Whatever happens from here, I just hope we somehow manage to implicate the Jets enough to get their first-round pick.

Maybe someone out there has proof that it was the Jets who orchestrated it all as payback for Tampergate. :D

I take a dim outlook on people who don't understand the difference between speculation and evidence.

Saying we should take the high road here irritates me nearly as much as people harping "innocent until proven guilty!" every time there is a big crime as if the court of public opinion is the same as a court of law. It is not. We are not. And we are not held to standards of journalistic integrity either. Then again, apparently neither are today's journalists.

What is more likely an old man deflating 11 balls in 90 seconds while urinating or a couple of people deflating one ball in 20 minutes. In Goodell's NFL the first is more believable. LOL

I don't know if its the Jets, Colts, Ravens (or non/all of the above) that had a hand in DFG but there is no question that there some layer of subterfuge here which is delaying the league from announcing their findings.

Imagine the scenarios:

If one team is guilty in sabotaging a ball to force a NFL investigation is serious stuff.
If two teams are in on it, its worse.
If three teams PLUS a VP of the NFL is in on it is a full-blown scandal.

...and we aren't even talking about tampering on Revis here as that is a separate issue

I prefer to hold myself to the standards of plain 'ol common decency. I guess that's not for everyone.

This entire "investigation" has been all about speculation and VERY little about the evidence, wouldn't you think????

Amen, sista. I hope the Kraft's don't sit and allow this to drag on for months. I want them to keep the league's feet to the fire and demand a fast resolution to this so called " independent investigation". This ISN'T the freakin' Warren Report. It shouldn't take months to finish. Essentially all they have to do is to verify what happened with those balls for a 2 hour time frame. There are a very limited number of people with access to those balls, and if the best investigators in the country can't do that in a week than the league should demand their money back

The very fact that this has dragged on to close to a month already shows how fatuous this whole thing is, especially when we already know the outcome. The league in all its corrupt manner, will vindicate the Pats on the evidence, while they "intimate" wrong doing by the Pats that they "just can't prove". In the mean time REAL cheating, like the kind the Niners, Cowboys, and Denver have done will continue to be ignored\

BTW- Just a nod of thanks to Jerry Rice who pointed out so clearly how hypocritical Niners like Haley, Montana, and he truly are when it comes to the issue of cheating.

That's the other part of your problem.

Until you start understanding how the two work, you're going to be stuck in the permanent hole you find yourself in.
