PFT says the Pats offered the Raiders a conditional 4th rounder for Moss.

Trading away our 2nd rounder for Welker is already paying dividends...:D

I'd rather have a guy who will fight for the ball as opposed to one who will fight over it. PFT opined earlier today that since Al wants a 2nd and GB offered a 4th they would likely settle on a 3rd. Felger will be vindicated!

QB: Brady
RB: Maroney
TE: Watson
WR: Moss
WR: Stallworth
WR: Welker/Caldwell/Brown
OT: Light
OG: Mankins
OC: Koppen
OG: Neal
OT: Whoever wins in training camp

I'm not sure there's really a negative in the above lineup. It would allow this team to have 2 deep threats for the first time in years, give great flexibility with lineups and matchups, and put Brady in a position to kill any team that decides to double either outside receiver.

Hmm..... Moss & Welker for a 2nd, 4th (even a 3rd) and 7th?

I'll take that and be quite happy.

I'd give up the 3rd for Randy Moss in a heartbeat. The only pause should come from the salary cap, which is contingent on what we do with Samuel.

Yeah, there is, Moss is the negative.

I would give a fourth round pick for Moss only if the Raiders gave us Moss and a third round pick in return.

I can't believe the number of people who think that Moss would be an addition to the Pats.

Remember what Pioli said: "We are not collecting talented players. We are building a team."

Okay, that was mean. I feel bad about myself now.

but don't tell me it didn't occur to you too...

I think the Packers will give up a third if the Raiders threaten that the Pats are willing to give up a fouth. I'm kind of getting tired of people judging players based on the past. We have to cut Moss a little slack, he played for the Raiders! Would you be enthusastic about playing for the Raiders when they just hired a college QB's coach? When he was with the Vikings the had some success and Moss kept quit until the Vikes started to struggle. The Pats have enough veterans on the team to keep Moss in check. Tom Brady would be the best QB Moss would be able to play with, period. Moss would look like a fool if he started bad mouthing Tom Brady and the Pats. Moss wouldn't have any credibility because of the Pats past success. With that said, I think Moss would be a great addition for a 4th round pick when the Raiders originally wanted a 1st rounder. However, I would be very very surprised if the Pats traded for him. In addition, to the people that are questioning if he can still play, Keyshawn Johnson said on ESPN that Randy Moss currently ran a 4.28 40 time.

And I can't believe that you're quoting Pioli as a reason not to make this move, when it's Pioli and Belichick who'd be involved in making this trade. Seriously, did you not think that through? If Belioli think enough to trade for Moss, perhaps they think that Moss can be part of that "team" being built. They made it work with Dillon, who had quit on his team just as plainly as Moss has quit on the Raiders.

We have for almost a yr, being teased with this Randy Moss stuff . Trade deadline last yr, the beggining of Free Agency this yr, now draft time.. I stll see the same result, NO MOSS,but this has been a uniquie off season..

I mostly agree as far as the end result of this, but when do we get to the point that we start assuming where there's smoke there's fire?

i think were trying to make the best WR corps this season..were also looking at some top named WRs in Draft :\

I can see something happening on this.

BB will perform due diligence, interviewing Moss ala Dillon a few years ago, and gt him to agree to a incentive-based deal that could reach the numbers he already has in his deal.

If he passes the interview, i can see the pats trading #28 & a conditional 4th for Moss....and the Raiders 2nd rd pick this year.

This makes Davis look better...'got a 1st rd pick back for Moss' and would get the Pats back in the 2nd rd, and pick up an amazing talent, albeit a known headcase.

One thing i'll say for Moss. He has opened his trap over the last two years, but no scandals like he had in Minnesota. Maybe winning can change him as it did Dillon, at least for 2 years?

Say no to Moss!

I think the report is just going on past rumors about the Pats being interested. I really doubt the Pats are really interested.

Moss is wrong for the Patriots. Moss is a undisciplined route runner who pretty much runs down the field and either outruns, outmuscles, or outjumps the competition. The Pats' system is about precise route running and presnap reads. Moss fits in well in a verticle offense and although Brady can throw down the field, he is at his best when he can surgically and methodically march down the field on a 10-15 play 6-8 minute drive. Moss can't be effective in that type of offense. What makes Brady a Hall of Famer isn't his arm, it is his brain. Moss needs a guy with a cannon for an arm who can huck it up there 10-15 times a game. That isn't Brady.

Also, I am tired of the comparisons of Dillon to Moss. Their attitude problems were completely different. Dillon only created trouble because Marvin Lewis did not give him his starting job back after he came back from an injury eventhough Dillon still had a lot left in the tank. Otherwise, he was always a good team player and he always gave 1000% even when his team was crap and no one was trying around him.

Moss, on the other hand, quits on his teams on a drop of a hat. Moss quit on both Minnesotta and Oakland. He used the fact that no one was trying as an excuse to quit last year. I have news for him, the defense was trying because they were pretty good. If I'm Warren Sapp and I am giving everything for a team and everyone on the offense quits including their stud WR, I would want to kill them. Do you think Brady would quit on a team just because others weren't trying? Bruschi? Harrison? Seymour? We know Dillon wouldn't because he did run his legs off for some of the worst teams in NFL history while he was with the Bengals.

Moss is Moss. He is 30 and he isn't going to change his stripes now. He is an one-dimensional player (who was at one point All World with that dimension) who looks to have lost a step or two. He is a "ME" player who admitted to taking plays off in the NFC Championship game in 2000. What makes people think he will change just because he is here?

ROFL, that pic is hilarious!! :D :D :D
