Worth it.

Pocket change.

Irvin's is larger for being instigator.

I think the NFL handled this pretty well.

The expulsion was the big one, but you can argue that Irvin's fine should have been larger given his role. On the other hand, it was a heated and emotional moment and it had been a clean game up until that point.

Otherwise I think the "pocket change" level of the fines suggests that the NFL isn't all that upset about what Gronk and Hoomanawanui did, but feels that it can't let it go because punches were thrown.

In general, I think the officiating was pretty good and consistent.

They "let them play," as you can see a lot of hand action between defenders and receivers throughout the game that I've seen called during the regular season this year.

Also, each team has a legitimate beef about a couple of calls

Everyone in the announcing booth pointed out that the "Running into the Kicker" call against the Pats should have been "Roughing."

Butler clearly tripped Kearse on the play that's been rerun a few thousand times (and he covered it up like a veteran too!).

Either call could have altered the flow of the game, but the missed Butler call occurred at a more critical time of the game, so the Pats came out a little bit ahead as far as I'm concerned.

That unsportsmanlike call against Seattle for hitting out of bounds was surprising, as it was a pretty ticky-tack penalty. Other than that, they pretty much let them play.

It did look like Thomas was already in motion and it would have been hard for him to pull up. But it also appeared that he lead with his helmet?

Anyway, the miss of helmet to helmet on JE evened that one out also. I thought it was a very well officiated game.

I agree that neither team has much to complain about regarding the refs. In addition to the previous calls mentioned, Brady also could've been called for intentional grounding.

I'm surprised they didn't get Develin. He starts back at the huddle. You see him check with Stork that he's got Tom covered. Talks to Tom ("Tom, I gotta get me some of this"). Then is off like a shot to blast the guy Gronk was tied up with (Bennet?)

"Screw it. Season's over. I'm throwing haymakers." - Gronk on Kimmell
Yea that pretty much sealed it. The guy took out 3 players therefore he should be fined more. lol

To steal a slogan from DeMoulas,...More for your dollar..:p

I think that call was a make up for missing Chancellor's head to head shot on Edelman.

I love Kimmell's show. Much better than Jimmy Fallion's MOST LIKELY TO GET IN A FIGHT IN THE SUPER BOWL HAHAH IM HILARIOUS!

This is very very confusing.

Irvin gets fined 10k for assaulting a player and potentially causing a harmful situation to other players and maybe even fan rioting.

....and then Baldwin is fined 11k for pretending to poop out a football?!?!?

Totally disagree. This was as obvious a penalty as it gets (first contact 3 yards out of bounds).

It would have been an awful call since the ball landed a few yards in front of a receiver.
