I doubt joe montana is going to want to deliver the lombardi to brady and the pats.
You guys gotta stop with the passing of this misinformation. Joe Cool does NOT have a problem with Brady or the Patriots. He actually likes Brady and said he's one of the all time greats and deflating footballs isn't a big deal and shouldn't even be against the rules. He DID however think Brady lied about it. Which is still lame.
 
Is Larry Bird's retired number hanging from the new garden? How do you know what people will feel?


the intensity or the higher meaning of going into the new niners stadium is a real stretch.....montana had nothing to do with the place....never played there....there will be no reminiscing

I never said he hated brady. But would you want to hand over the lombardi to the QB who has just surpassed you In SB wins?
 
The Mods should make this idea a stickum. :)
In that situation, no Patriot player shakes Jerry Rice's hand before the game until he lays them out to confirm they are free of stickum.

I cant think of a better person to do it. Why would Montana care? Get his name in the paper again.
 
If the game turned out to be a rematch with Seattle, I think the best part of playing in Levi's stadium for the Pats would be that the 'niner fans who got tickets would be cheering like mad for the Pats...Montana's legacy would take a distant back seat to their hatred of the Seahawks, at least judging from the emails I got from my friends in SF after the game...they were probably the only city in the US outside of New England where the majority was pulling for the Pats.

PS: FWIW, I agree with those who argue that Montana's comments have been blown out of proportion.

He couched the main point amidst compliments, fully knowing what the media would pick up on.

It was also obvious that you were attacking Montana, which was a scumbag move, given that Montana was actually defending the issue by saying that it shouldn't even be one in the first place.

Your last two sentences - especially when proclaimed to the media - define a "stab in the back".

And, yes, you DID indeed leave out the first part of the paragraph, and it was very convenient.

Me personally, probably not. I was worried some of the other QBs like Rodgers or Ben would start to catch Brady in SBs until we won the 4th. But, a lot of people are less salty than me. I think people on this forum assume way too much. Hell people were bagging on Peyton for rooting for his lil bro in the SB and saying Wes didn't want us to win. I mean c'mon man.

Oh, God, it is the San Francisco REGION and in the new home of his childhood team that he rooted for. I'm sure the good people of San Mateo are mostly 49ers fans.

Two days ago was the first time I was able to watch the helmet catch without wanting to dynamite the TV, so I'm going to enjoy this one a little longer if you don't mind. :)
 
Wait...are people really clamoring for an undefeated season less than a week after a SB victory?

I love the idea of Brady winning a 5th SB title in SF, and I think it provides him great motivation. But this undefeated talk...after 2007 and 2014, haven't we learned enough? The best teams, the SB winning teams, build as the season goes along and gel in the playoffs. They go through rough patches, learn how to handle adversity, and provide their coaches with teachable moments. After all the quotes about how much stress the players put on themselves in 2007, how much the undefeated talk was weighing on them, especially during SB week, the LAST thing I want, if they're to chase #5, is an undefeated season.

Put together another great team, build as the season goes along, pray for some injury luck and plug holes as needed, then prepare for war. All I want is for them to be back in the mix next season, let Brady and the football Gods decide the rest.
