In the shadow of Robert but really the 1st time I have heard him for an extended time. Smart articulate, and he loves the Pats ! Looks to be a worthy successor one day

Heard him just before the games every week on The Sports Hub. He's definitely been well groomed and polished. Very comfortable with him taking the reigns when Bob decides to take a back seat. He's not one of these spoiled idiot kids taking over. He'll honor his fathers legacy with class and dignity for sure.

Great franchises start at the top. Futures lookin' great!

The benefit to Bob grooming Jonathan is that hes learned from his dad's mistakes and his successes.

An owner's responsibility is to...

A) Make money
B) Provide the fans with a great experience
C) Make sure the organization's structure is such that competent people are hired and allowed to do their jobs.

They day we see Jonathan pick up a stop watch the franchise is doomed.

I honestly feel our 76-80 teams were talented enough to win it all. There was always a key holdout. Cunningham, Hannah/Gray, Haynes, etc. Those teams were stacked and ownership didn't have the vision to build a championship team.

Feel bad for the great players we had then. Just tells you how important management and coaches are. Imagine Hannah on pats now !!!

For a long time I was fearful that Jonathan wouldn't escape the "rich kid syndrome" (see Woody Johnson and Jim Irsay). I'm not sure if he'll be as good of an owner as his dad, but I'm now confident that he is not a douchebag. He's fairly articulate, focused and intelligent. Not as careful with his words as his father, he tends to pull less punches, so far without controversy. His expressions and body language occasionally flash glimpses of intense emotions and resolve.

I doubt Jonathan will ever be the negotiator that is father is. That said, I think he will be a good owner with the potential to be a great one.

Jonathan has always been well spoken, but I've heard whispers from several different places that - to put it kindly - he's not held in the same regard as Bob within the locker room. I'm far more worried about the ownership transition than I am the QB one.

Please elaborate.

Dunno about jonathan in the locker room (snapping towels at players? :) ) but my brother was CEO of the wireless company installing in NFL stadiums and he told me that his people who worked with Jonathan thought he was very bright, hard working, and a pleasure to work with. This allayed my worries that he might be an arrogant, entitled empty suit.

Please elaborate.

Not much to elaborate on, just that from what I heard he wasn't very liked. It was 4+ years ago, so things may have changed.

Remember Sullivan's ******ed son getting in the rumble with the Raiders?
Bad times. Bad times.
Thank the football gods for the Michael Jackson tour fiasco that eventually resulted in Kraft ownership

I actually remember that quite fondly. Pats beat the hated Raiders and little Billy gets his @ss kicked. What's not to like?
