Which RBs are in..and which are let go for 2015

My feeling is that they'll try to keep Vereen at the right price, but having to sign players like McCourty & Gostkowski and trying to work something out with Revis might not leave enough left to get that done. I can see them giving Ridley a shot on a minimum deal with incentives, but it might be time for him to move on and get a fresh start somewhere else.

Other than that I don't see any changes in the backfield for next season.

If Ridley has fumble problems because of 2011 and a couple of games in 2012, the Patriots aren't winning the Superbowl in 2014 because their first four weeks were awful.

Context is great.

Ridley's ball control looked coached up and solved this season.

RB - Blount, Gray
3rd down - free agent (could be Vereen), White
STer - Bolden
camp fodder - Gaffney, Lewis (obviously, one of these could beat out Gray for a spot)
also, we might re-sign Ridley for Gray's spot
I really liked Gaffney in college, he was a powerful runner with some speed and wiggle.

I like Blount but I see a rookie in our future. Honestly re watching the SB Blount was 10-37 in the first half. They quit on him in the 2nd half as usual and he had 4 carries for 3 yds or something like that. Blount needs 20-25 and his numbers will always get better the more touches he has. NE just doesnt do things that way Im afraid. May have been a different swtory if we had a decent lead which honestly we should have had.

I dont see Ridley back and I dont see Gray back either. Heath said on NFLN he thinks alot of teams will be after Vereen. His agents job is to line up the best deals but its Vereens job to decide which is for him. IMO there is a cap of how far we are willing to g0 FOR A 3RD down back that did run great this year.

Yes, he will be the binky of lots of people. Perhaps, he will beat out Gray as this year's prospect.

I have a personal bias. I try to recall all the late rounders and UDFA's that went on IR for the patriots as rookies. I try to recall all those that were solid contributors in their sophomore years or ever.

Perhaps the problem is memory lapse. Perhaps the problem is that I have only been a fan for 35 years. But I can't remember any later rounder or UDFA who contributed to the patriots after spending his rookie year on IR.

I really liked Gaffney in college, he was a powerful runner with some speed and wiggle.

I like a tandem of Gray and Blount, reminds me a bit of Bradshaw and Jacobs formally of the Giants.

Would love to keep Vereen, but have a feeling he's the most likely free agent to move on.
