There was a feature written on him a few years ago and the guy is insane. Like starting fights on his own team insane. I was really surprised to read it because I didn't have much of a read on Edelman before…he was a great kick returner and seemed to be injured a lot. People always dismissed him as being a "bubble" player come roster cutdown time (though I never did, have to pat myself on the back there). He didn't seem to have much of a personality.
I never knew that freedom of speech meant you have to talk?
Let me start this letter off by saying that I am not a Patriots a fan. I was rooting for the Seahawks during Superbowl 49. I was confident in my team and was just waiting for that 2nd ring to fall into our hands. The Superbowl was an exciting game to say the least. Your team played well and was able to push back our defense which many teams have not been able to do. Even though we fought our hardest and in those last seconds of the game it seemed as though we had the win in our grasp, you swooped in with an interception to clinch the game. I will admit I was extremely disappointed and crushed because it really looked like the win was ours yet it just slipped right through our fingers. Even though I was upset, I walked away having a lot of respect for your team and how well you played. I felt as though we played a team that was able to give us a run for our money and that we had to work hard to keep up with. I was never a fan of your team but I gained respect for it after the Superbowl.
Let me move on to the point of my letter. I am not unfamiliar with the trash talking that occurs between teams in competitive sports. It’s the ugly nature of the beast and for the most part it just comes with the territory. The excitement and pressure that comes along with such a high profile and competitive job is inevitably going to bring out what I’d like to call the green-eyed monster. People will bash you when you are successful and especially when your success has become a threat to their own. However, there is a line to this harmless fun that should not be crossed and I think your team crossed it with your behavior during your celebration parade. Flying off at the mouth during the intensity and high stress moments of a football game is one thing, but going out of your way to parade around in front of your fans holding disrespectful signs and t-shirts directed towards the opposing team is simply bad form. The spectacle that players on your team have created not only rubs salt into an already painful wound but it tells those around you that you have no respect for any other teams or their fans. You are telling the world that it’s ok to beat someone while their down and that when you win you should throw it in people’s faces.
I would think you would want to be spending your celebratory parade actually celebrating your Superbowl championship win instead of dwelling on the other team. Any respect I had for your team before this incident was quickly lost when I saw your arrogant and unprofessional behavior. Am I saying that the Seahawks have been perfect in this area? Absolutely not. But I can say without a shadow of a doubt that we have never taken things to the level you have chosen to and I honestly find it despicable. I would have to say that in this case, a sore winner is much worse than a sore loser. You are the Superbowl champions. Focus on that and be proud of yourselves for your hard work. You don’t need to demean other people to do that. All you are doing in the process is hurting the organization you represent and losing the respect of many potential fans around the world. When you win, win with dignity and class no matter what other teams may say and do. Be the team that everyone looks at with respect and admiration. The NFL is a great organization to be a part of and I hope that you will do it justice by acting like a team that deserves to win by not only your physical attributes and skill sets but by the quality of your character. Be a team that everyone else strives to be like and not one that others see and shake their heads in disappointment. In the end, it is just a game.
Sincerely,
Amanda from Tacoma, Washington

The Lynch mocking didn't sit well with me, he didn't say anything to anyone.
I don't have a problem with them trashing Sherman, but I found the mocking of Lynch in really poor taste. He didn't say or do anything to antagonize the team. Plus unlike many I have no problem with his handling of the scum in the media.
Did anyone see former Seahawk Jordan Babineaux on NFLN this morning? He was asked "Who has the better shot at going back to the super bowl next year, the Patriots or Seahawks?" He said Seahawks (which in itself is not a terrible answer as they are a good team) but then goes on to say that the dolphins and bills are catching up with patriots in the AFC lol. To me I think the Pats have a better shot simply because the AFC is not that great. Other than the Ravens, who else is there?
With all the crap the Pats have taken, I don't have a problem with a little trash talk back.
Sherman with his "2" "4" fingers routine when Revis was picked by the official and the receiver was left wide open for a TD was classless, so he had that poster coming...anybody know where I can get a copy?
And, the Legion of Boom has strutted enough that they have to be ready to take a little parody and trash talk back. What's the problem with that?
Lynch, however, goes out of his way not to talk to the media, so I'm not so sure about the "***** mode" poster, but I'm not coming down on our guys for doing it...they've put up with enough. Considering the things that have been said about the Pats, starting with idiot Luck's talk about feeling "deflated" after the game, I get the frustration that went into it.

Why can't the Pats be as classy as those Seahawks??
That shirt was an accurate description of Lynch and was just fine IMO. I thought it was the best thing about the parade outside of Brady and his son. Lynch for the majority of the season was behaving like a b*** on a certain week of the month. If he's not mad about his contract, he's mad about Wilson not being "black enough" (according to reports) or he's mad about skittles. Forget him, I'm tired of his excuses, whining and bull. I think B*** Mode fits perfectly. The only thing I didn't like was Gronk. It was a bit much and kind of embarrassing and annoying, IMO. He could've been a bit more professional about the parade, he just looked like he was trying to live up to his reputation and he overdid it, he should've been more like Edelman, already buzzed but bearable.
Brady did nothing to warrant such humiliation and shame from Sherman or the sports media who chose to laugh and rehash and cycle this story over and over until the following week. If it were their boy Peyton that crap never gets reported, in fact Sherman wouldn't have pulled that stunt. Seahawks deserve the trash talking directed at them. I'm angry that our RBs are apologizing for it.
AFC is weak, but is the NFC really any better? I thought their playoff picture looked weaker than the AFC. A lot of teams in both divisions look good, but none look legit outside of New England, IMO--but I'm totally biased.
I agree, but disagree about Lynch shirt. (See above response) I'm so tired of the whole "class" crap. Class is overrated and boring, being real is entertaining. Everyone likes to trash the Patriots because of "The Patriot Way" or the seemingly stuck up behavior. It's time for them to let loose and start talking some crap back. I wish this had happened against the Ravens and against the rest of those losers who continue to insist that the team is full of cheaters, overrated and crappy players.

I disagree. I hate the whole "class" argument. It's so overplayed and really doesn't need to be harped on every time anyone does anything besides answer with PC BS. When someone deserves to be called out, I see no problem in doing so. Sherman made a fool of himself with the 2-4 garbage, Edelman just continued it. I didn't care for *****Mode but I feel like that was directed at the whole team rather than just lynch. A lot of crap is talked about the pats. If they want to fire back good for them. I think it's a big reason they're champs - this 14 squad had more bite than in years past...more balls, pun intended. You answered your own question, because they're The Patriots. I don't give a crap that other teams are classless ****heads, we should the Pats allow themselves to be dragged to that level?
I agree with everything she wrote. I absolutely LOVE Edelperson, I've been one of his most ardent supporters since he was a rookie, but I think he lowered himself with that Sherman sign business.
Myra Kraft would not have approved.
Football players fight among themselves all the time. It's part of playing a savage sport where anger is a virtue. I only played in high school, but we still fought in practice a lot.
Having said that, some players are extreme. And it seems Edelman is extreme...expecially after hearing him tell everyone he loved them and telling Belichick that "I'd do anything for you coach (twice)".
What an interesting way to interpret my post. Completely wrong, but interesting nonetheless. The Patriots players and our fans don't owe anything to opposing fans. I don't even think we should give a crap how they "feel". This isn't game where everyone gets a trophy....and I like it that way.
