NFL seems like they are in a tough mood....

I wonder which of these 4 cases doesn't get fined? Lets see:

Falcons admitted they did it.

Browns did it According to the above article.

Jets did it as he told everyone that would listen.

What team does that leave? hmmm

The investigation of the Browns is one of four active NFL probes. The Atlanta Falcons, forallegedly using fake crowd noise at home games, the New England Patriots, for allegedly using underinflated footballs in the first half of the AFC Championship Game, and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, for allegedly tampering with Darrelle Revis via comments he made about the Patriots cornerback, also are the subject of investigations.

Depending on the outcome of the investigations, at least two, and possibly three of these cases are expected to result in fines and a loss of draft picks, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

I won't comment on Tempest-in-a-teapot-gate, but as for the other three:

(1) JEST tampering. He almost literally performed the textbook example of tampering. Not severe, necessarily, especially if Pats resign him (remember: Revis said he's not particularly interested in returning to the JEST), but some punishment should be a given.
(2) Falcons crowd noise. The owner's admitted it. Should be punishment, but, again, not severe.
(3) Browns texting. Not clear what happened, but if it was providing any sort of competitive advantage, the league should come down as hard on the Browns as it did in Cameragate. Arguably harder, since it did provide in-game advantages, which Cameragate did not.

Well, why should they forgive us….we didn't do anything wrong.

Exactly!

Inasmuch as I am basking under the glow of the SB victory, I am very much angry at this deflate-gate and want to see it exposed as much as possible.

And then camera-gate. :)

Can someone explain what advantage this gives the Browns as the GM could, presumably, get on the headset and talk to the HC. Or use a phone as BB sometimes does.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, I honestly don't know.

If someone on the sideline has a device capable of receiving text messages (I presume the tablets that teams are allowed to use have this feature specifically disabled), then anyone who knows about it can send illicit messages. Imagine that it happened during a Pats-Browns game. They could put someone on the Pats' side of the field who could text them what Belichick was telling the defense, etc.

Truthfully, other than the Jets tampering the other two should just be small fines. Farmar texted guys on the field. I mean who gives a crap honestly? The NFL and Goodell is nuts if the Browns lose draft picks over this crap. It just shows you the stupidity of the league. Give a small fine and move along.
