Holy crap!!! Look at the polar opposite coverage of the Patriots parade today by the Globe and the Herald and the Globe:

Herald:

Snow, cold, MBTA woes can’t stop Super party [+Video]

Buckley: Go ahead, Patriots fans, strut!

Patriots gird for victory lap through snowy Boston

Duck Boat drivers
ready to roll

Globe:
Riders facing more delays on MBTA, commuter rail

As complaints mount, Walsh firm on Patriots parade

In snow-clogged city, mixed reviews for cleanup efforts

Snow-covered sidewalks, cleanup complicate parade plans

Of course, other Patriots haters are trying their best also.

Good morning, Boston. Don’t plan on driving your car this morning http://ow.ly/i/8vIDy

Unfortunately, I have to agree with them. I don't think this parade should be happening today. Walsh messed up scheduling this thing without getting the streets and sidewalks cleared first. Standing room is sparse along the route. You CAN'T drive into Boston today and plan to park anywhere and the trains/mass transit schedules are off. Plus, school is in session.

Kraft should've bitten the bullet and cleared Gillette enough to host something there.

I was puzzled by Breer's second tweet above: given his anti-Pats stance, does he really expect many people to listen to him?

To be fair, the Globe's take is what I'm actually hearing on the street -- even from Patriots fans.

Shmessy, IIRC you don't live in the area so you might not realize how bad things are. My kids have lost 4 of the last 6 school days to snow. Commutes that usually take 30 minutes are taking 2 hours, whether by car or public transit. The snow is piled literally 6 feet high throughout my neighborhood, and even major roads are narrowed to the point where it's hard to get through. AND MORE SNOW IS ON THE WAY.

What a bummer. I agree they should have cleared the stadium for something. Damn weather!

I really wanted to go to the parade, but couldn't swing it on such short notice, combined with the amount of snow we got it was too much of an obstacle for me to plan in the middle of the work week. I know they said a lot of the players are leaving early, but I thought for sure it would've been on either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Oh well...:(

What I don't get is why is the traffic/snow such a big deal? I know we've had a historic amount of snow the last week, but we've had big snowstorms before, and several in a row at that. I distinctly remember right around the 04 AFC title game vs Pitt we had a TON of snow on the ground - i don't remember gridlock like this. We beat the week's snowfall record by like 7 or 8 inches I think - does that make such a huge difference? I've never seen the T fail the way it has the last few days. I took the Orange Line to NU for 5 years in the early-mid 90s and went through lots of snowstorms, including the april fool's day blizzard and have never seen all systems fail the way they have this past week....we had a sh#tload of snow last winter or the winter before last and nothing shut down the way it is today...

No matter what everybody says, good or bad, lots of folks turned out and it looks like everybody had a blast. It's New England. We're used to the weather, even if we grumble about it, and we find a way to get around in it. Glad to see so many of Patriots Nation turned out. Looks like the players, coaches & Krafts had a great time too!

Which one do you think is owned by the Red Sox and employs Shank Shaughnessy? :D
Which one employs Ron Borges and John Thomase?

Really, the supposed Globe vendetta against the Pats is vastly overblown.

Omigod! What a horrible disaster THAT was!

Surprisingly solid turnout. Without the snow piles and traffic/transit issues, would've been twice as big.

This was the last day to hold it - - - - if you wanted to have anyone else on those duckboats other than just the Kraft family.

Traffic problems were overrated. I got dropped off at my office a few hundred yards from Gov't Center very easily a few hours before the parade started.

Hate the meeting I was in where I could hear "This is Our House" blaring... wanted to be out there so badly. Seemed like an awesome time was had by all, obviously making all the crying over logistics pure nonsense.
