I just wanted to get some things off my chest about the SB. Please jump in with any comments of your own.

First a thank you to the Pats.

Tedy said it best about this win. All of the bs leading up to the game may or may not made the Pats want it more, but it definitely made the win more satisfying. Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Most HCs would have called a timeout in that situation. Just another example of why Bill's the GOAT.

Malcolm Butler made a few great plays, not just on the last play. There's no better feeling as a coach, or a more effective method, than showing confidence in a player's ability in a big situation and then seeing that player come through.

I've been trying to come up with some response to all of the haters that might accurately suit them. All I can come up with so far is... nah nah nahnah nah.

In one of the Seahawk fan reaction threads I heard a guy getting excited during the brawl about seeing some "soda crackin" with Gronk. Boy was he wrong.

Watching Brady drop those swing passes right in stride to Vereen reminded me of the biggest difference between Brady and Drew Bledsoe. Drew could never hit those in stride.

Thank you to all of the superstitious types that got it right this time.

Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth were clearly rooting for the Seahawks and at the most crucial moments in the game for the Pats offense they were talking crap about the Pats. They missed an epic performance by Tom and the team.

Talk is cheap, and no team does more of that than the Seahawks. they showed their true character at the end when they were taking blindside shots at Gron and still getting their butts' kicked.

For those Lynch would have scored believers, if I remember correctly there were at least two instances when Seattle had 3rd and 1 and the Pats stopped them for a loss. A Lynch TD was not a sure thing.

Pats fans didn't deserve to be crushed again with another fluke loss in a SB. Apparently, the Seahawk fans did.

The Good Ship Patriots is leaving a bigger and bigger wake of tears as it plods along.

The silence of the haters is defintely golden.

I'm one of those and did what BB wanted everyone to do ... DID MY JOB :D

I wore my Brady jersey for the last 2 SBs prior...we know how those turned out. I wore a Red Sox jersey this time with the logic of "I'm gonna conjure up Reverse the Curse mojo"....folks, I think we can all clearly see that it worked! I DID MY JOB! ;)

Nothing pissed me off more than hearing Michaels and Collinsworth talking about deflated footballs while Tom Brady is under center inside the 10 trying to retake the lead at the end of the game. Bring it up during a lull in the game? Fine. Mention it during the pregame or the halftime? Sure. But during one of the most crucial plays in the Super Bowl, not focusing on the game and play itself was disgusting.

I was thinking this morning that another great thing about the Butler pick is that he is like the anti-Sherman. I think Butler might have single-handedly turned all the tide against the rabid anti-Patriots mood nationwide.

The contrast between the show-boating, taunting, attention-whoring Sherman and the humble undrafted rookie is striking.

It really was incredible to hear them talking that crap at the most crucial points in the game.

I don't follow the inner workings of the media, but my guess is that they have a meeting and decide what the story line will be, even though it hasn't been written yet.

You could hear the disappointment in their voices.

But the haters haven't been silenced. They're basically saying Carroll was an idiot for calling that play instead of giving all of the credit to Browner and Butler for reading the play correctly and defending it to perfection. The narrative is that Seattle lost it instead of New England winning it.

Their tone reminded me of Pat Sumerall in Super Bowl 36. I was too busy loudly celebrating to notice at the time, but watching it later, Pat's call of Vinatieri's game winning kick was so blase that I swear he had money on the Rams in that game.

When you add in the post game interviews by Michelle whatever her name is, it's pretty obvious to me, NBC was going to play that card to the end.

Watching the game replay last night was eye opening. Butler makes a great break up on 1st down after the Lynch catch and Collinsworth expounds on how impressive he's been with the camera lingering a hair longer than you'd expect. It really had the feel of film foreshadowing.

All along I was keeping myself from getting too excited because I respect the talent of the Seahawks and thought they were are worthy adversary. But after the Kearse play I leaped from my chair and exclaimed, "That's IT! The Seahawks do NOT deserve to win this game!"

Everyone talks about how lucky NE was at the end, forgetting that for every slice of legitimate luck NE received, the Seahawks were handed a double size helping. My wife had an interesting comment after the game, something to the effect of, "If they played 10 times, I could see the Patriots scoring 28 nearly every time, but it seemed like Seattle wouldn't even hit 24 most of the time." That isn't quite it, but I think it gets the point across that NE's offense came across as far more repeatable than Seattle's.

Some unsung plays from the rewatch yesterday

1. Ninkovich stop on 3rd and 1 on the seahawks 1st drive of 3Q limiting them to FG.
2. Ninko sack.
3. Butler pass breakup on 1st 3 and out.
4. Vereen 1 handed grab - he misses it, its for sure intercepted.
5. Brady's looping pass on 3rd and 9 on the 2nd last drive to Edelman for the 1st down. Very difficult throw.
6. Brady threading the needle on the last drive. An absolute fantastic throw in the middle of 3 seahawks. Wish it got more coverage.

The Pats are so good with that quick passing game that they make everything look easy, even against a great defense like Seattle's.

Two weeks ago my 12 year old granddaughter was watching the NFC game with us and she wanted to know why the guy grabbed his "thing" on the TD. Thankfully, they didn't give us a shot of the vulger move this time. She was watching again.

In spite of how the media wants to portray things for the SB, this time it truly was good over evil.

Was that the lady that was chasing Butler around? We were in stitches watching her try to get him back after she thought she had him for an interview. Butler was in a trance.

Sadly, it's those kind of pre-event production meetings that ruin a lot of coverage. How about letting the athletic event dictate the story line. That would be something new.

A few more things;

My wife, myself and one of our sons have been having a predict the score contest each week. Our son hit the final score on the nose. He also picked Edelman as the non-Brady MVP. I think he had that right also.

How about all of the whining about Seattle's injuries from Collinsworth. Sometimes it's hard to believe that he's an ex player.

On a sad note, I want to thank **** Rehbein for seeing what nobody else saw in Tom Brady. Rest in Peace.

I wonder what would have happened if Jonas Gray was activated and Malcom Butler wasn't? Would it have mattered to anyone?

Danny Amendola had some pretty big plays down the stretch and through the playoffs. He has a knack for getting some YAC.

This game was a MMQBs dream.

We have Tom Brady and nobody else does.

My Brady jersey was left hanging over a chair because I wore it week 1 and then again for the Packers game. Instead I wore my Belichick Let's Party shirt, because the Patriots were something like 6-0 this year when I wore it. Also locked my buddy out on the deck for pretty much the whole 4th quarter, since he was out there when we scored our first TD. Did my part!
