Brady vs. Rodgers: Case closed for now?

You are making my point. Stuff happens that is beyond the QBs control.

No, I think you are doubling down on a claim that is pretty dubious. If you want to go out and proclaim that AR is physically a better QB than TB go ahead. But as pointed out to you, several times, physicality is only part of a great QBs makeup.

Well, there's the whole not-being-able-to-hit-the-side-of-a-barn thing. Plus, his release? Not so hot. Which is why his very best season was pretty mediocre.
Point is saying Rodgers has the skills to do this or that better is silly. Skills are tools, tools you use to help win games. Rodgers by no means has the most tools ever, and of those tools he does have they haven't resulted in more wins. Brady winning more with fewer physical gifts hardly makes Rodgers better. And personally, I don't think skill set matters one bit, I only care what you did.

I must have missed something. When did Brady v Rodgers become a thing?

Roeger is a talented QB more so than Brady, however Brady is a better Qb now and always has been.

Reg Season and of course Playoffs.

Rogers 70-33, .680 winning %
Brady 160-47. .773 winning %, Brady 90 more wins 14 more losses clear superiority

Rodgers in only 5-4 in the playoffs, barely .500 please son't run that trash here. Go to ESPN where the fans are ignorant and receptive to nonsense and hype.

And yet, somehow, 3 one and dones and only made it to the big show once in 6 years.

7 years
1 SB appearance, 6-5 in the playoffs, 4 of those wins came during their SB run. He's only been to the NFCCG 2x.

Brady is only at 8 losses.

And people please don't give me the "team" line. Brady pretty much carried the 2011 defense and had them in position to win a SB.

Julian Edelman and Matthew Slater saw time in the secondary in that defense. Edelman was playing CB in the AFCCG.

I don't even care. I'll take Brady Any Day, Time, Place & SB! But I will say this, any conversation comparing Brady & P.Manning is now a DEAD topic. It's NOT even close. Head2Head, Playoffs Superbowl Wins and even Regular Season by lookin who Brady has been throwing to as opposed to Manning always having a Top Tier receiving corp in a Dome no less. One year 2007 Brady had Moss & Co. and he & Moss broke TDs in a Season and Were one "Hail Mary" pass answered heave to goin undefeated 19-0.

Every time the Packers have needed Rodgers to do something epic, he hasn't, period, end of freaking story. He's pretty to watch and clearly #2 in the league, but that's it

How anyone can say he's a superior QB to Brady after the Ravens comeback and Superbowl 4th quarter, I just don't know. Brady does epic **** so often people take it for granted

Roeger is a talented QB more so than Brady, .

I dont agree with this. Physically talented....sure. But reading defenses and decision making and protecting the ball, and several other tangibles, and being ice cold under pressure make up a QBs talents and TB has him beat in those.

The mental part of the game isn't a talent it is intelligence and hard work and discipline. Talent is the physical aspect of the game, which is why Brady won't decline the way many QB do his physical skills aren't the basis of his success as the GOAT.

Most football fans outside New England would probably say the top 2 QBs in the NFL are Rodgers and Brady at 1A and 1B. Heck, I probably would have said the same this year. Rodgers is unbelievable...most of the time.

I thought about it. Vs. the same defense, Rodgers got his butt kicked twice. He only put 22 points on the board when his team delivered him 5 turnovers. Rodgers has a better OL and IMO supporting cast (definitely WR).

Why wasn't Rodgers tearing them apart with Nelson/Cobb/Adams in man coverage while Brady could do it mostly with Edelman/Gronk/Amendola? A calf injury doesn't explain that. Rodgers also had all day to throw.

So, Rodgers overrated, better gameplan by McDaniels, or is Edelman just very underrated compared to consensus top WRs like Nelson/Cobb?

EDIT: Thread is about who is better present day. Of course career is no contest.

One game is a terrible way to shape an argument, but I'll play along.

Rodgers was playing with a significant injury that not only limited his mobility but also his practice time, which clearly had an impact on several throws. He also was hamstrung by a coach who was playing with his hands around his neck for much of that game.

There is no reason to draw any conclusions from that, let alone one that can dismiss what he's accomplished throughout the rest of his career.

Anybody have statistics to show how a QB responds playing from behind?

I believe that nearly everyone is a better front runner, but how do they respond when their team needs it most?

I'd bet Brady beats nearly everyone in league history when his team needs it.

Rodgers is the media's back up plan for not praising Tom when Manning is sucking extra hard.

He's Mr. Irrelevant in the 4th quarter and Mr Irrelevant when behind. Congrats to him for now having as many playoff wins in Lambeau as Eli Manning

Disagree completely. Rodgers is great, he carries that team year in and year out. I'm glad they faced the Seahawks because Rodgers is the toughest player in the league to defend against. I don't get the need to trash him, Brady is the GOAT.

From strictly a positional standpoint (playing QB), most would say Rodgers is better. What sets Brady apart from everyone is his leadership. Yes, he is a great QB but he is an even better leader...by his play, by his actions and by his words. You can stick him on any team and every unit (offense, defense, ST, coaching.....) is better. You don't win like Brady, in this era, with skill alone.

Minitron was a pretty serviceble DB!

Rodgers may pass Brady in the next year or two, as Brady will, eventually, decline. In the meantime, though, Rodgers is just taking over the Peyton/Brees role of top regular season stat compiler.

Look Brady in terms of history is a no question, Now if we are talking about today and maybe for the next 5 years, then it can go either way, But Rodgers has nothing but time to still grow and get better, while Brady eventually will start regressing, It will happen, it happens to everyone, we just don't know when.......

rodgers is 31. i doubt he will get better. he is in the absolute peak of his career.

Brady's whole career is a come from behind win.

There is a toughness, an intensity that is not in Rodgers or any other QB today, maybe ever. His team sees a man who fought for everything he ever got, and still is the first one to work fighting every day.

It's not that Rodgers, or Manning are soft, it's just that as the leaders of their teams, they don't inspire their team to be fighters, and sometimes (especially in the playoffs) you need a fighter.

All I need to see is Rodgers little move where he puts a belt on after a TD throw to know he ain't Brady- and he never will be. Fantastic QB though.

Physical talent wise, it's Rodgers. The intangibles looks like Brady but that is tough to gauge because it can be a result of coaching staff, team and teammates desire/heart(ex. Edelman).
