How about Stork's year?

go back and read the "expert" know-it-all camp cuts threads...Stork, Amendola, Butler...all sure cuts...we needed to keep Halapio and of course Josh Boyce and his measurables made Amendola a sure cut. How many posts about Amendola? 10,ooo vicious diatribes day after day?

Fans from this board GO to the camp practices and SEE the players and how they shape up. Perhaps a little more listening to THEIR opinions and less of this "I'm The Gaa Gaa Knower Of Things" armchair experts with this pathological need to make their OPINION out to be an absolute certainty would go a long long way on this board. IMHO

I'll admit I was a bit smitten by Boyce, but I never had an issue with the others........

Alright well it was technically 13 months. But National Championship and a SB and it wasn't a fluke thing where he happened to be on the roster and rarely contributed.
Two words...

THANK GOD!

Speaking of offensive lineman, remember when (some) people wanted Dave DeGuglielmo's head on a platter?

When the whole offensive game plan is predicated upon the QB getting rid of the ball VERY QUICKLY, I'm not sure we should be celebrating the OL with team with an "I told you so" tone.

That said, they were good enough to win the Super Bowl, and I'm optimistic about them for next year.

This... the line did well but without someone like Edelman the story might have been completely different.

Talking OL : can anyone give me the definitive Mankins trade outcome ? I know NE got the TE and a 4th. But does anyone know how much more free money they got and how it ended up being used ? I know it's an inexact science and "following money" is not always precise. But can anyone give me the "we got Wright, a fourth, and were able to sign A,B, and C" ?

great great year for Stork - no doubt

Presumably he has some weightlifting to do this offseason, and his hand-work/technique can improve. I look forward to his sophomore season.

I'll also be curious how Fleming improves.

On a separate note, I have a feeling training camp will be even more crowded this year.

Plus he nabbed the Rimington Trophy along the way! Pretty much the most perfect year a football center can have.

Great year for Stork. I believe we went to the 4 O-Lineman sets because Stork went down, and we only played with eligible/ineligible receivers as decoyed runs in the Super Bowl. I'm really proud we had this new young player come back fast from injury to be effective in the biggest of games.

Hard to complain about a 4th Round pick performing his rookie year. Draft through free agency, this team has really made a lot of good decisions this year.

there seemed to be a lot of people on this board who wanted Amendola cut, even though it made no sense to do so

Good year needs to work on run blocking and improve Strength. Pass Blocking was good.

Sorry - did not intend to imply "told you so". Instead I am reflecting on how things have changed in a few months. ;)

Awesome 13 months for him. Even better draft pick by Bill & co. Hitting on a center in the 4th round and having him contribute significantly as a rookie is pretty outstanding.

Thanks to Scarnecchia for helping draft Stork!

Yes, Stork had a great year. So did Connolly and Wendell.

To start the season, we were a mess inside. These three came through big time.

Yeah, we have our All-Pro C of the future.
