This still boggles my mind. We are in the 1 yard line with 20 seconds remaining, instead of making us take a safety and getting the ball back ( a possible scenario ) with 10 seconds remaining in the clock, the DL was kind of flapping his hands and just walked over the LOS. This is inspite of other Seahawks defenders trying to pull him back. It looked like he was under a spell or something !

I don't know what exactly transpired it was very weird watching it. Will they not know that we will try to get them off sides ?

Guess not, Brady talked about what they did to try to draw the Seahawks offside on NFL network after the game. It worked! Credit to Brady and the offense. Shame on Bennett for falling for it.

I don't think it would have been a safety. How many times has Brady run for a full yard loss on a QB sneak? He would have driven ahead to the line of scrimmage both times. Still baffling that the Seahawks went offsides... I could understand it if the nose tackle was trying to blow up the play by timing it to the split second, but Bennett didn't even have a direct line to Brady; completely pointless.

Not situationally prepared, but considering that Seattle not only had to stuff NE, they had to push them back a yard in the time it takes Brady to fall to the turf, they needed every edge they could get and NE smartly took advantage of that. It showed poor coaching, but it wasn't that embarrassing, all things considered.

wow, I have to catch up on my reading. I saw that play so many times and every time I watch it, it is so weird. He is not even trying to rush the line, he looks to be simply putting his hands up, and then trying to walk over the LOS. Was he not paying attention to his teammates yelling at him and trying to pull him back ?

I guess we have all the stars lined up on that day I guess, Man I still can't stop smiling :)

Well, trying to draw Seattle off is the obvious thing to do. Remember that bit in the A Football Life episode on BB where he's pointing out to a player that when the offense is backed up like that a false start amounts to basically nothing. So definitely worth taking the risk of a false start to try to draw the defense offsides.

I definitely remember that. It was in practice. BB has a total football mind.
What would we have done if they didn't jump offside? Punt on 1st down? A safety and then punt could have put them in position for a FG/win.

Do you have a link to that post game interview with Brady on NFLN, didn't see it and can't find it. Thanks.

It was mimicking a a silent count. Brady tapped his center on the butt, knowing full well that Seattle would see it and jump early....and that's exactly what happened.

I think the guys behind him kinda pushed him forward and what we saw was him take a step forward and waving his arms to regain his balance

And then he started moving backwards but our guys came out and touched him

Brady referred to what he did was the "triple head bob", something that he only did once for this game..

We will hear in the next couple of days how they practice this all the time when they are in this position.. and were prepared for it.

BB and Brady were probably cheating and used hypnosis

Watching the game again, it looks like the "triple head bob" is by the center.

Right after it happened Collinsworth said Bennett jumps offsides more than anyone else. He got called for it 10 times this year.

I will not be surprise if it all starts to unravel under Carroll in Seattle. His guys are out of control and the only think keeping them is the fact that they are winning. A down year will bring the house of cards down.
