Sort of hidden in the MMQB column is this little nugget:

Armen Keteyian has an eye-opening interview with NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent on Showtime’s “60 Minutes Sports” show that airs Tuesday night.

Two things surprised me the most. Vincent admitted it was Colts GM Ryan Grigson who turned in the Patriots for the suspected underinflated football. And there was this exchange with Keteyian that, quite frankly, makes Vincent look just terrible, regarding the exhaustive investigation of the Ray Rice case by former FBI director Robert Mueller:

This will come out Tuesday, after Ian has reported that the only ball that was significantly under-inflated was the ball the Colts used to rat out the Patriots.

Harbaugh can deny his involvement all he wants, but he knows what he did and Pagano does as well. Grigson knew the whole time. They wanted to create a sting (with or without the NFLs consent) and it has failed miserably. If the Colts tampered with that football, then the Patriots should be awarded their 1st round pick and 2nd round pick and they should be heavily fined for trying to frame an organization.

How do Colts fans actually root for that team?

Don't forget the personal fines for Harbaugh and Pagano, say a half million each.

VERY Interesting

Did anyone else catch this article? The second to last paragraph claims the league confirmed on Jan 23 that evidence shows the Patriots intentionally deflated the footballs...

You mean this line:

"The NFL said before the Super Bowl that it is still investigating how the Patriots used underinflated balls in their AFC title game but has no conclusions yet and no timetable for resolving the cheating accusations.

The league said Jan. 23 that evidence shows the Patriots intentionally deflated footballs in their 45-7 victory over Indianapolis that gave them the AFC championship and a trip to Arizona to face Seattle in a game they won 28-24.

The league said its conclusions will be quickly shared when reached. NFL executive vice president Jeff Pash and Ted Wells of the law firm of Paul Weiss are leading the probe."

Where do they draw that conclusion from?

Exactly. The first two paragraphs contain contradictory information. How can the NFL say it has reached "no conclusions" but also have determined that there was an intentional act. I need to go back and re-read it, but I don't believe the league's statement from 1/23 mentioned anything about what their evidenced showed.

It's also interesting that there's no name on this article, just that it's combined from wire reports.

There was nothing nowhere on 1/23 either before or after that said evidence showed the balls were tampered with.

Thurs was BB and TB first PC
Fri League statement followed by Kraft statement
Sat BB PC
Mon Kraft Statement at SB

In any of those there was no mention that the league has evidence of the pats tampering with the balls. Whoever wrote that article has made a false accusation.

Great. So because this meathead didn't remember PV = nRT the whole world spent a week giving a **** about air pressure and crucifying our team.

Ryan Grigson. Colts GM since 2012 through 4 beatdowns from NE, former Rams scout from 1999-2003 and former Eagle scout/pro personel from 2004-2012 making him a part of 2 organizations who lost SB's to NE. No axe's to grind there.

He'll be in line for a league office job next with his track record.

The league said no such thing. Here is the exact statement:

Just another example of how a report or source is inaccurate but published as fact for which conclusions and judgements are drawn.

....and TODAY (Feb 3) PFT repeats the FALSEHOOD that D'Qwell Jackson "noticed that the football felt flat."

Check out the 3rd paragraph by a lying, cheating human being named Michael David Smith whose parents and entire family should be ashamed:

"....It’s unclear how word got to Grigson that the Patriots’ footballs might be under-inflated. There have been conflicting stories about whether the Colts thought it was an issue going into the game, or whether it only came up when Colts linebackerD’Qwell Jackson intercepted a Tom Brady pass and noticed that the football felt flat."

Haven't these losers moved on yet? Just regurgitating already falsified things. DIAF, all of you.

Yeah, he might read what his other idiot buddy writes before authoring an article full of misleading misinformation.

Hopefully this gets highlighted by the media.

Hopefully this gets highlighted by the media.

If it doesn't look bad for the Pats, the media deems it uninteresting.

The question needs to be answered - why did the Colts GM think the Patriots were under-inflating balls. Whether the Patriots tampered or not largely dictates the answer to that question, and in either case, the answer is very interesting. Considering I do not believe the Patriots tampered & that nature provides a reasonable explanation - I'd be surprised if the answer doesn't become a lot more interesting, and end up reflecting poorly on the Colts, the NFL and/or another team.

A lot of this gets explained by the likely fact that the people involved simply did not understand what happens to a ball inflated in one environment and taken to another. Considering a ball has never been gauged mid-game, this becomes very believable.

What would the odds be that as a scout, Grigson was the person with a camera "scouting" the Patriots walkthrough before the Rams Super Bowl? ;)

So, when all this is said and done (and let's assume the Patriots are not found at fault).

The media wil lspend all of 15 minutes covering it or will it be another week of trying to lay blame on the Colts/NFL Execs/Themselves as potentially culpable in stirring up this crapstorm.

and if 2 days after the news is announced, if you polled americans and asked them if they believe the patriots cheated by deflating footballs, 74% would say yes.

You know what's odd? Bob Kravitz, the slimeball that he is (I would use stronger language but I don't want to get infracted), was the one who broke this story. He broke it; he should have his hands around this thing. Is he honestly going to let other people take away what is a potential scandal in the NFL? He has virtually disappeared. A reporter is honestly not going to want the glory of this story?

No, he backed off because the further he dug, the more he realized things are not what they seem. He thought he had the story of a lifetime, until he realized that it would sink the team he roots for.

Chris Mortensen appears to have gone into the witness protection program as well.
