Mod Edit: Seahawks Fan Here To Make Pathetic Excuses For His Team

I really like the Seahawks. Lynch, Sherman, and Wilson especially are fantastic players and people. You, however, are a sore loser.

And they did. Ugh.

I wish I was a believer in moral victories but I don't. History is written by the victors. One stupid decision, a little luck, and we'll have to endure years of Patriot fan gloating. This is particularly bitter for me because I lived in Cleveland and was a huge Browns fan as a kid when they lost to Denver in the '88 AFC Championship Game because of "the fumble." They were the better team and Denver proved it by going to the Superbowl and getting their asses kicked by Washington. At least with the "fumble" it was a reasonable football play that just went wrong. Yesterday was a dumb football play that cost Seattle the Superbowl. Ouch.

I can think of a lot of coulda shoulda's. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't in its weakest condition since early season. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't further weakened when they lost last year's Superbowl MVP in the first quarter to injury. I wish our starting defensive end didn't get injured in the 3rd quarter...followed by two touchdown drives by the Patriots. I wish our coach called for a run instead of a pass. Any one of those would have probably made the difference in the game.

It's definitely hard to swallow. The Seahawks held the Patriots to 57 yards rushing. The Seahawks rushed for 162 yards. They intercepted Brady twice. As I predicted yesterday, the Seahawks were the tougher team. On any normal day the Seahawks win with those numbers.

But they weren't the smarter team...at least in the last meaningful play of the game.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to really congratulate the Patriots. I admire the hell out of Brady for leading the Patriots comeback in the 4th quarter against Seattle's depleted defense. I admire what's his name who made the interception to win the game...nice defensive play on an historically stupid offensive play. I admire the Patriots secondary shutting down Seattle's middling receivers for about half the game. I admire Belichick for being an ornery *******. But overall I say, lucky win but still counts.

See you next year and hope the results are what they should have been yesterday--the best team winning the game.

PS. It'll be fun to see how the Patriots fare in a year or two when Brady is done. ;-)

Nice post. Our team wins the SB and you do a drive-by trolling and crap on it. Annoying.

Your team lost because they played stupid and your coach is tactically the same person as he was in 1997.

Enjoy a 9-7 season next year. All Pete Carroll teams self-destruct eventually.

I forgive the OP for such an ignorant post. He's new to being a champion, he doesn't know how to act or what to do. He's just not used to it. We've had over a decade of experience so please take it easy on him.

He's like Bruce Irvin, not a real champ, but a punk ass kid who happens to play with real champs. While teammates like Wilson and Sherman are professionals, Irvin lashes out like a spoiled brat because he can't handle what it takes to be a true champ. OP is no different.

The reality is both teams had multiple chances to win and lose. It happens all the time. We could have lost against Baltimore. Seattle could have lost against Green Bay. A play or two here or there is all it takes. Sometimes it's a lucky bounce. Sometimes it's a gutsy play call. Blame Pete if you want, but the same aggressiveness that caused Carroll to call that play is also the same aggressiveness used at the end of the half to go for the TD, or the fake FG against the Packers. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but you can't only accept the good without the bad.

When we went up to Seattle in 2012 and dominated for 3 quarters before watching the Seahawks come back to win the game, we didn't cry about anything. We tipped our hat to the team that beat us and learned from it and vowed to improve. Seattle barely hung in the game in the first half. For all your talk of dominance, you went over a quarter without completing a pass. Maybe that was okay in 1920, but not today. And then they took over in the 3rd quarter, only to fade in the 4th. You take that goal to go situation for granted, somehow overlooking the ridiculously flukey bounce required to even set up that chance. That's not dominance. The Seahawks played well, but outside of one quarter, they didn't dominate.

So enough with the whining. You and Bruce Irvin may be fortunate enough to play with champs, but don't kid yourself, you're both chumps, not champs.

As for the Seahawks, they're a great team and deserve all the credit in the world, and they could very well be back next year. And maybe you're right that our window is 2 years. But that might also apply to Seattle. Once Wilson gets paid, that's $10-$15M less to spend on the rest of the team. One of the biggest advantages Seattle had will evaporate the minute Wilson gets his contract.

I still think they're a heck of a team and a heck of a champion. Too bad we can't say the same about OP.

Hawks in trouble when the give the overrated one his contract
So Russell Wilson is overrated, because he lost a SB ? For most of the game he was magnificent and showcased his abillity to throw with touch, velocity, and accuracy. He's one of the best in the game, and he and the Seahawks will be back in the mix next seaaon to "write the wrong".

My tongue getting numb... from all these delicious tears.

Shh, Jets fan, the grownups are talking here. Big boy football stuff...this game was played in February Jets fan, you wouldn't understand.

Wilson completed 12 passes last night...of course, braindead Rat fan thinks THAT is HOF material...it just never stops with these green lobotomy cases.

If there's two things Jet fans know it's English and QBs. Am I write?

Why are you just looking at stats... He was MAKING plays (after the first) and throwing with excellent touch throughout the game and delivered the best thrown ball of the game that was unfortunately dropped by Jermaine Kearse.. Russell is worth every penny that he is going to receive this season and he is going to become one of the three best Quarterbacks in the NFL in two seasons.

I'm happy to believe that this post isn't representative of Seahawks fans.

Trolls the internet-wide love taking one "bad" Boston/New England fan and saying "perfect example of how terrible all their fans are, they don't deserve BB and Brady," etc. so I choose to believe this guy just has a hyperinflated sense of just how magnanimous he is for "coming back" here, laden with excuses for his so called "better team." The dozens of posts jumping down this guy's throat (including my own) are simply responding to how easily he teed it up for us.

If a real S-hawk fan came here and said "I'm devastated. Good game. Congrats. Hopefully we get revenge next year." I think a vast majority of the fans here would have said "Good game, totally understand how you feel, since we've been there too."

I lived in Seattle for a few years, and most of the sports fans I met there were gracious hosts and good losers no matter what the sport. It was one of the few places I could wear a jersey from a Boston or New England sports team to an away game and feel like I was still welcome there. I would not dream of disrespecting Seattle sports fans in general.

So you used to be a Cleveland Browns fan, but somewhere along the line you became a Seahawks fan. Okey dokey...thanks for clarifying what a fair-weather, band-wagon fan you are. I wonder who your "next" favorite team will be? This is a pretty weak attempt at trying to extend an olive branch, and for that....GFY.

jeezus krist STFU you goddamned mongoloid....Willson last 4 possessions of the game...punt,punt, punt, INT. You are a complete duncekie. What kind of rotted brain moron thinks trading a shutdown #1 corner for a freaking D lineman is an over the top move?? 4-12 you ignorant mouthbreather...krist you're a stupd West Virginny hick inbred.

Wilson had a great stretch the last few seasons and he deserves the credit and to be in the discussion as one of the top active qb's.
You can't omit the part where he threw an interception at the worst possible time for his team, right after his opponent finished 2 long drives with TD passes though.

Russell Wilson is going to want to get paid soon. Great players on that D are also going to want to get paid. Let's see how that organization handles the oncoming onslaught of players looking for the big bucks.

A Jester fan giving advice on anything "good" in the NFL is funny. Thanks for the laugh.

Russell Wilson is the ONLY reason why the Seahawks were not blown out, he's NOT overrated and if you watched Seattle all year, you'd REALIZE that. He was brilliant for most of the game and yes he made a mistake, but so does every great QB. And Sheldon Richardson is an absolute animal, a three technique with the ability to convert speed to power when he plays the edge and a monster that cannot be blocked and he's a man that has top notch work ethic and a great motor. Is it Russell Wilson's fault that his defense gave up a ten point lead? Is it his fault that Kearse dropped a catchable ball?

One guy says he's overrated and you're freaking out. He was the 2nd best QB on the field last night, that's all I know.

Russell Wilson is overrated because he's a good QB who's being called elite. It's pretty simple.
